Hero OE cables usually last really long without any maintenance.
If the cable outer breaks for some reason, then there is a chance that water will enter and form rust. Also, there is a chance of water entering the cable through the throttle unit (handle bar) if it is broken or not fitted properly.
    Just my two cents

That's correct. In my friend's cd100 the throttle unit can't be closed properly.

What i do is, i replace the clutch cable and throttle cable once in 3 years or 30k kms. It's a 5 minute job at the service centre and would cost somewhere around Rs.250 including all taxes.

Throttle cable costed me around Rs. 80.

              Labour charges Rs 20

Clutch cable replacement with labour charges Rs. 130.

The clutch and the throttle cables were replaced in different days. I couldn't remember the exact amount since it was done a few months back.

                  Dear paul ,

                  i have few doubts .

1)is it possible to install spledndour bore piston in passion pro .

2)How to tighten the head bolts of splendour and the side holder bolts the order . since oil always leaks into the bore

Last week I also had to replace my bike's front brake cable , original one lasted six years . Now the casing was flaking & rusty but inner cable was intact . It was very hard to move . With Splendor's cable I found the clutch , front brake & throttle cables impossible to repair or service in any way . Only while installing new ones and periodically thereafter remove the lever or throttle grip cover fully and undo the cable . Then apply old type non-lithum grease at both ends . Grease the lever pivots liberally too as well as inside of the throttle grip and throttle spindle . This shall keep the actions smooth and water proof . Trying to seep oil into them usually makes matters worse .

Speedometer cable can and should be removed from time to time and inner greased and some oil dripped down inside the casing-tube .

Another tip - you'll see that the front brake , clutch and speedo cable are quite stressed where they bend along the way and are held to the bike's frame by hooks . The cable casings usually break and start to flake and deteriorate at these stress points . So every time I changed cables , I laid out the new ones beforehand and marked those hook-stressed points by measuring out with the original cables removed from bike . Then I slipped on lengths of 10,12 & 14 mm size heat-shrink tubing over the cables and heated it to fit on the required area . It's a bit difficult to slip on the heat-shrink sometimes because the cable ends are large diameter but somehow I managed it . So now with all my new cables the stress point areas is having extra reinforcement . After this grease the new cable ends and fit it on bike . You can try this , am sure it'll give the cables extra life . Haven't tried it on throttle cable though since my original is okay yet . More than cost it's hassle to change cables , particularly if it breaks on the road .
Heat-shrink tubing is available at electronics parts shops in various diameters , I buy 1 meter lengths of almost all sizes for various use .

Guys how to tune splendor carburator.
                      1. for lean mixture i have to close the screw.

                      2. For rich mixture i have to open the screw.
                      Am i right or not.

No its just the opposite. Splendor has an air screw. For lean you have to open the screw and for rich you have to close.

According to me, 65 kmph would be safe with a pillion.
