Or should I take a second opinion from different mechanic.
I will try to upload the video of the engine noise by evening.
If you're from nearby Kerala I'd be glad to take the motorcycle off your hands

On a serious note, find a more reputable mechanic, the Splendor is a lifetime motorcycle unlike the gay shit manufacturers try to sell you these days, if I were you I'd never part with it.

Could you help me with the issues in engine sound if you can make any from the video?

Tell the mechanic to perform valve adjustment. It's not a big issue. Just make sure that the bike is cooled and don't ride the bike to the workshop , get it towed, in this way you'll be able to achieve perfect valve clearance . Take it to authorised service centre.

                  Hello Everyone,
I'm a new member over here. I wanted to ask you fellow bhpians few questions regarding my dad's 2003 Hero Honda Splendor. The bike has done close to 50,000 kms and till date hasn't required any major work. Even the chain sprocket, clutch and all the cables are stock. The spark plug was changed at 47000 kms for the first time when the bike actually refused to start and was misfiring. Post that there are no issues till now. But lately I've started to notice few imperfections. The Timing Chain when the engine is started makes some noise. This noise goes away after a few seconds. I'm guessing it might be the tensioner and i'm thinking to get it fixed by myself.
Secondly the carburetor now is sometimes throwing away fuel when choke is used. My guess is that the culprit is the float pin. Will replace it if the problem occurs once more.
Lastly I would like to ask you all about the best tyres that I can get for my dad's ride. The one's present are about 17 years old (Front along with the tube) and the rear one is 10 year old. The front is a TVS Tyre while the rear one is a MRF NYLOGRIP PLUS V2 N6. So now I'm in a dilemma what to do. My father doesn't want to change the tires as the bike isn't being used much. I want to change them but since I'm a student I've got my own finances to figure out. Anyways it will take me about 4 months to get them replaced. I've shortlisted these tyres:
                  1) Front- Ceat Gripp F 2.75 18
                  2) Rear- Michelin Sirac Street 2.75 18
Are there any better tyres that I can go for? I want the best gripping tyres that my budget could permit. I'm not concerned too much about tyre life since the bike isn't going to be used much. Also I am planning to with RIB pattern for the front tyres because that's what the bike originally came with.
                  Thanks.

                    Hai ,
If the noise is present only at cold start ,it may be from tappets. If its from timing chain you can hear continuously from left side.Do a complete service and bike will charm .According to tyre, michalin sirac is a good tyre . only one issue I see that ,it will skid slightly on wet roads while applying the break . It made by hard compound . it have good tyre life. If you are buying rear tyre use 3.00 18 . It will give more road gripp than 2.75 18.
Mrf nylo gripp is one off the good tyre no words to say about it.

Spark-plug recommended for my 2010 Splendor+ in the owner's manual is CR7HSA , I am running on CR7HGP presently but it's about 20k kms old now and due for change . But now I could not find either CR7HSA or it's g-power equivalent CR7HGP in market . Everyone ( including NGK's webpage ) says to use CR6HSA or CR6HGP instead . What is the experience using this one higher heat range plug in Splendor/+ ?

Check the charging voltage at the battery terminals with a multi-meter . while revving the engine it should go up to 14.5 volts DC . if it's too low than that your battery may be defective .
Also it should not be because of headlight , as far as I can remember battery-charging and the lights are on a different circuit .
