Woah, gear shift problems so early.
My passion pro is at 101000 km. Still no shifting issues. I've developed a habit of pressing the clutch while warming up the engine. It helps in eliminating the clunk while shifting from 1st to 2nd.

The guy has a tendency to mash the gears into place, especially on downshifting as he uses the whole weight of his leg to do so. Hence this was expected.

Thanks!! Finally got to it today and removed the buzzer from the relay. Thanks again for your guidance.

I am driving a 10 Years old CD DAWN 70,000km done so far. No major problem. My average is 60kmpl regularly. How can i improve the same. Attaching photo of sparkplug.

Also interested in knowing while tightening chain tension, should we loosen the big nut attached on left side of after loosening the center bolt.Click image for larger version

60kmpl is decent enough, I ride a CT100B and even with a efficiency centric tune my FE is at 46.5kmpl within city limits mostly cause I ride it like I stole it!

On a serious note, if the state of tune is factory, then better let it be and ensure that consumables are changed religiously.

Yeah you need to loosen both, its called a half-axle setup.

Plug shows good burn , mileage is fine . How old is the plug ? Use AddonP ( available at indian oil pumps in sachets ) with petrol for a tankful @ 2ml per liter . The motor should idle nicely after warm-up . If it falters at idle , clean the carburetor . Check the condition of the chain-sprockets and replace if needed . Keep it lubricated and properly tensioned . After much testing I am now using a approx 70:30 mixture of EP90 gear oil & petrol for soaking the chain thoroughly , and then leaving it overnight to dry up . My bike ( 2010 splendor + ) regularly returns mileage of 70+ , but then I ride very cautiously too

Yes , that big nut is the sprocket-carrier nut and it must be loosened before you can adjust the chain . I think it needs a 23mm spanner . The center bolt is the rear-wheel axle nut , which needs to be loosened first . Leave about an inch of up-down slack at the middle of the chain .

That's the thing about a properly maintained Splendor. But if you ride at anything about 50-55ish or 60, the mileage starts dropping to 65 or less.

Is there any video or detailed steps to learn how to tighten the chain? I would like to do it myself if possible but been sitting on it as whatever videos I saw warns about messing up the wheel alignment if done incorrectly.

There are several such videos on youtube etc, however they may not be specific to your model . A very good guide to chain adjustment and lubrication is given in my bike's owner's manual itself ( page 33-35 ) with pictures . So check your owner's manual first . You should just go ahead and try it , correct chain adjustment and regular lubrication is vital for proper and safe operation of the bike .
Tools needed are just the 2 ring-spanners to loosen the axle-nut & sprocket-carrier nut , one 10 mm spanner to take off the 4 chain cover nuts . some EP90 (GL4) gear oil and a little petrol and some cotton cloth , an old toothbrush . Process is also very easy .
You cannot mess up the alignment because there are 5 scale-marks on both sides of the swing-arm , and a corresponding notch on top of the chain adjusters on both sides . While adjusting the chain ( recommended slack is 25mm i.e about an inch ) you just have to keep the adjuster notch on the same mark/position on the swingarm-markings on both sides - that's it , your wheel shall be in correct alignment . For example , my chain-adjusters are at 4 on both sides now . When you reach beyond 5 , the chain-sprocket shall need to be replaced . Please tell me if you are not clear in any of the steps , I'll try to post some pictures to explain .

You're right , fuel-economy drops with higher speeds . But my locality is in the congested Kolkata suburbs , I seldom get chance to push above 50 kmph . Plus lots of brake & clutch operations . What I like about this bike - it has a light clutch , easy & soft gear-shift, is quite nimble and can keep up with the city traffic just fine . Particularly astonishing is how eagerly this rather anemic motor pulls in 3rd between 20-40 , no hesitation, no drama , just leaps forward in a hurry . And as this happens to be just the right range you'd need in daily city traffic and fuel-mileage is great in this same range too , too good

Hello folks, does anyone have an idea on a good replacement fuel tank cap for a CD Deluxe (2011 model)? I don’t know if the fuel tank caps are generic and works for every bike model or if they are customized for each bike.

The type which is in there currently is an old model, i.e. have to take out the cap fully every time when I fill up and it is not sitting flush possibly causing evaporation too.

I found this cap on Flipkart and says it will fit CD Deluxe but comes with screws which I don’t see in my bike - https://www.flipkart.com/oem-hero-de...meht8zugrqfsfw

Can someone help me get a replacement possibly in the newer quick release type if possible?

I don't think the flipkart one will fit your bike , bike fuel-tanks are usually matched for the fittings they came with . There are safety issues too with the fuel-tank's parts . So if your tank-cap is become defective , better replace with the exact same part - that too with the OE part from Hero authorized parts reseller . I think the part No for CD-deluxe tank-cap is 17620-KTC-H01 . Even the Splendor's tank-cap has to be taken off and held in the other hand while refilling

                            While changing accelerator cable myself,

I dropped a cir-clip fitted to lock the needle its something like small bow shaped. I was not able to locate it

It is to restrict motion of below shown part upward. (circlip shown in photo is intact)

I went a spares shop & bought one for Rs 20, but it is not fitting properly in the groove provided. Hence the needle moves up& down by almost 5 to 7 mm. but served the purpose.

I feel that due to this my average came down. Please suggest should i replace it with original one. I feel that original comes as set with needle.

                            Any suggestion?

Please use a Bond Paper of same size with a hole carved in it.

Use three such sheets and place them in desired position on the needle.

Use Feviquick Gel / liquid to harden these three pieces at the place.

Then it should work appropriately (as required).
