At that time it was tuned by the local mech. Later i learnt carb cleaning and tuning from this thread and now the tuning is almost perfect.

Now my bike is like-

1. In the morning, Starts at the first crank itself. No choke required.

2. max mileage i got= 80 kmpl that too only once. ( At strict 40 kmph, its very hard to sustain that speed )

3. Normal mileage = 65-70 kmpl ( at 50-55 kmph ) and around 60 kmpl (At 60+ kmph)

But the thing I've noticed is, not only my bike but all the PRO series bikes which I've ridden are very eager to reach upto 95 kmph but refuse to climb further.
Maybe the shorter gearing and the catcon are the culprits.

----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

And sibun sir I have three questions which I am asking just out of pure curiosity. It may sound really funny but please bear with me.

1.

HH had launched a bike called ' Dawn '. Its not a Joy or a CD-Dawn but it looks extremely similar to your Joy. How is this bike different from the other two bikes ?

2.

Does the mahindra centuro use a Honda cub derived engine ? It appears extremely similar from the outside and also has a very similar exhaust note. and its more frugal too.

3.

The hero ismart 100 or the 102 kmpl bike as marketed by hero. Yeah it seems to be an unrealistic figure but many many auto-journo agencies like Motorbeam, Overdrive etc had tested this bike and found that it can achieve 96-98 kmpl in actual riding conditions. Moreover my uncle has bought an ismart at it returns a consistent 90 kmpl. Even Honda had argued that Hero is making a false claim and the motor is not capable of achieving such high mileage. So how is it possible that this bike gives 90+ kmpl while other bikes hardly achieve 70+ in daily riding conditions ?
Dawn was launched after joy. Joy sold exactly 15000 pieces. Then dawn was launched. Joy had an ex showroom price of 42k and dawn had an ex showroom price of 38k.

Joy had three short comings:-
1. Front shock absorber was from cd100 which was thin and had less travel. This had forks from splendor. Lent it a good front end feel.

2. The front drum was a 110 mm on joy. Couldn't stop this heavy bike. Dawn had a 130 mm drum

3. Tyres on joy was 2.50-18 front and 2.75-18 rear. Dawn had 2.75-18 front and 3.00-18 rear.

Centuro has a modified version of honda cub. Even kinetic challenger and boss had the same.

The ismart engine is different. Has different combustion chamber design. Has low friction bearings. Ignition system is a multi processor unit with 10 maps.

And carburettor is different with TPS.

After turning it to 1.5 turn .when my bro comes back home after riding 60km the rpm increases.is it means that the tunning is right?
Show me a photo of your carburettor.

I want to see which mode.

Then I will tell how to tune.

Change the clutch cable. It's not dis engaging clutch fully.

Modern day engine are lean burning engines.

And spark plugs used are hotter plugs.

So correct tune is reddish white.

A powdery white is lean tune.

And a blackish red is lean tuned

Yours I the model with TPS

So tuning it requires tuning at low rpm than old models.

Just increase the idle to 2000-2200. Then start the afr screw from 1.5 turns

Turn in or out. See which way it's increasing. Find the right spot where its highest idle.

Then decrease idle to 1100 using idle screw. That's your correct afr.

Tuning by turn method is the most useless advice I have heard.

Thanks for clearing my curiosity sir. I wonder why Hero pulled the ismart 100 off the market so early. It was the third most fuel efficient motorcycle in india, the first two being the glamour PGM-Fi and old bajaj platina.

Small update from my side. Passion pro is running fine. Clocked more than 86,000 kms and still going strong. Never got bored of the bike. A small issue has arised now. The brake light switch in the front brake is not working. The brake light is on all the time. The bike stood under heavy rain for a night and this happened. Will fix this soon.

Help needed!!

I am having Hero HF Deluxe i3s March 2018 BSIV model. Done 7000 kms and 4 services.

Before 1st service I was getting a mileage of 71-73 kmpl. After 1st service it went down to 68-70 kmpl. After 2nd service it went down to 63-65 kmpl. After 3rd it was down to 58-60 kmpl. And now after the 4th service its down to 52-53 kmpl.

Air cleaner is in perfect condition. Clean it with compressed air every 15 days. Carburetor is tuned perfectly by myself. Tappet clearance checked. Chain is lubed and adjusted properly. Wheel movements are free.

Daily usage is approx. 20 kms, out of which 15 kms is highway usage and 5 kms is in city with very light traffic. Driving style is very calm and usual speeds are in the range of 30 - 50 kmph. The bike is used only by me.

I am unable to figure out the problem of low FE. Need help from expert members like Sibun ji.

With my driving style, I am able to extract 60-62 kmpl FE from my 11 years old Yamaha Gladiatior RS which has clocked 80k kms.

I wonder how a bike which is famous for its great FE is giving such a low FE.

Did you check the spark plug? What plug are you using. Please service the bike by yourself. Most of the service centres ruin the bike in the name of free service. My bike has clocked 86,000 kms and still delivers 72 kmpl. Carburettor has been cleaned only once, that too unnecessarily.

Spark plug is in good condition. Clean it once a month. Yes, basically being a mechanical engineer I service it myself, but the first two services were done at Hero authorised service centres as I had bo time. Even though everything is in good condition, I am getting very low FE. Unable to figure out the reason.

The front brake switch was replaced yesterday. I bought the switch from Hero Showroom. Cost Rs.30. Then, I went to my mechanic. He replaced the switch in 15 minutes. Now the brake light works fine. Labour charges, Rs.30.
