Hi......I have also booked a chrome 500...but not sure when this will come to market .......cos in overdrive show they say it will launch in Sept and in RE site they say it will be available all over the world april2010 onwards......now this is confusing ....


I think we both have booked the same machine and need to help each other ....please let me know any update u get regarding this so that i can force my dealer or vise a versa

Finally got my New Bullet Classic 500. And on same afternoon-night did ~125kms (speed not above 60 kmph), may be not recommended but I just couldn't help it. Another wanna be joins the club.

The much talked Thump of Stock Classic 500 is not all that bad. Its quite decent in case you don't want to be too loud but want to feel it within you.

- Ride is really smooth, thought I was not really impressed with suspension but I guess its still better.
- Breaks are little above my expectation, its smooth and powerful.
- Boy I need to learn Kick Start, its not like standard, somebody did mention there a technique to it. Its really hard, of course im lean n thin
- I love the color, I knw it may be difficult to maintain but it has this rich vibes to it, specially if you park in shade.
- Bend silencer is must if looks are important but as for thump point of view doesn't matter much.


Photography is also my passion, and I guess bike like this is your best companion. Here are some shots I took on the same day.

I booked a silver cl 350 yesterday and the waiting period given to me is 10 months in bangalore. I am prepared to wait and I don't have a problem with it as long as it doesn't get extended any more. Till i get my bike i have to commute 30 kms daily on a Kinetic Nova which tops at 50 and drinks more petrol then a cl 500!

Classic 350 modifications

I testdrive RE classic 350 and RE TBTS. Though RE TBTS was more comfortable and that Classic 350 my heart went for classic 350 and i booked it. The dealer in mumbai has told me that waiting period is 10 months so i am waiting for my bike. If by the grace of god i will get within 8 months otherwise its 10 months. Anyways in the mean time i am going through many forums on xbhp and team-bhp dedicated to classic 350 and classic 500. I have few questions in my mind for which i am searching for answers,

1. Can the split seat of classic 350 by changed to comfy a single seat like on electra and std 350? if yes then where in mumbai i can do it?

2. Secondly i found the horn of classic 350 is pathetic, perviously i owned classic pulsar 150 and avenger 200 both had two horns very loud and clear.I came to know that if i put two horns on classic 350 then it will drain the battery so what can be done to resolve this? i need a loud and clear horn not deafning. Also i want a powerful light for night since i will be returning from office at night right now according to website it has 60W/55W Halogen.

Hey Rahul,

I am also going to book a bullet in 3-4 days. It is the same condition in Pune too. 8 months for TBTS and Std & 10 months for Classic & Electra. I am confused between Classic 350 and Thunderbird. Though I love TBTS, just want to know the performance wise difference you felt between both while test driving them (I haven't test drived any... )

Also let me know the minimum booking amount required.

No performance difference in both the bikes.all 350cc UCE are same in performance,handling is way different in both the bikes,Better test ride the options before booking.

Classic 350 day 1 - need help

Hi guys,

I waited relentlessly for 7 months, finally took delivery of the classic 350 today in the evening. Got home, parked it and was chilling out with friends. It was parked a little out of place so i went out to park it inside. I turned on the ignition and pressed the electric start.

There was a loud pop, i saw a spark fly of from near the carb area. I could also see smoke. From a heavy heart i pressed the electric start again, the bike is not starting and making grinding noises, kind of like - chuing chuing chuing - and smoke is also coming out from somewhere around the carb. Its dark and I couldn't figure out where the smoke is coming out from. I didn't try kick starting it and parked it and came back inside. My next course of action will be to call the showroom tomorrow in the morning.

I am just dying to know what could be wrong. Its been just a couple of hours since i took delivery. The odo reads 10 kms. I just feel terrible. From what i have read about the classic i suspect it might be a sprag clutch issue. But will it explode (literally something did explode). If anybody can shed some light as to what could be wrong or had similar issue it will make it easier for me to accept what just happened.

@Rxattak - brother don't worry about that.Never accelerate while starting your Bike remember.Fix Air Pump .It takes 10 mints to repair.
