Just booked a black one for myself.. Expected delivery should be dec1st.

All my bikes are black.. so thut will go for a red or blue.. but looking at the bike, the black took me again..

Its the same as the international version.. everything is same, Internally they say the sensors were tweaked a bit for indian climate,(this is done for every country)

The good thing is the engine and the tires, Tires look promising in the wet.

Again the Ground clearance might be an issue. But the front looks solid!!

      other things,
      The 350 had a 19" front.
      The bend silencer is optional,
      pillion seat is standard

                R E classic launched

yesterday i went to RE showroom by 7.00 pm.i was surprised to see CLASSIC 350 & 500 on the showroom.I met one person in showroom.he told me that classic launch done in Taj,Delhi.500 CC with fuel injection & 350 cc classic both are with UCE unit construction engine ala TBTS.with single seater it looks cool and awesome. He told me he is the service manager for rajasthan ,working for last 25 years in royal enfield.Classic 500 on road price would be around 1.5 lakhs and classic 350 on road price woul be approx.1.1 lakhs
i hope it would be available for test drive by next month.
classic 500 & 350 both comes with 18 inch wheels.Even with just 5'ft7''inch height i can keep my both feet on ground comfortably
classic 500 has not changedin style or spec for india.it is the same which has been exported to other countries.meant to say the looks are same.in black color the classic 350 also looks awesome.
No words to describe the beauty.
he told in future the RE STD 350 (sad news)production will stop &would be no longer available. but spares will be available for the same.

                  the 350 has a 19" front

                  500
                  Front 18" - Zapper FS
                  Rear 18" Zapper Q

                  350
Front 19" - the standard MRF with linear grooves
                  Rear 18" - Zapper Q

There are 3 catcons in the stock silencer and one in the bend pipe. The emission was clean as ever, we started the bike in the showroom and was running for 2 or 3 mins, no smell of exhaust smoke

The bend silencer will cost 3K with U wanna change the bend pipe too.

Do both the 350 and the 500 have the same catcons? That would be surprising considering the 500 has FI.

regarding specs u are spot on.but bend pipe costs only 1600 bucks, now told by Mr.Babu,RE,marketing,Chennai

reg.Emissions.you are right,it is clean and meet EURO III (BS IV) since it has been exported to european countries,it must meet emission norms.
Because of the same emission related problem RE is going to stop production of STD 350.

May be yes, though 500 is FI, it will burn more fuel per cycle, so 3 catcons, plus it will cut some cost too, as its the same silencer for both the bikes
ya BSIV is more stringent than Euro III, std will be faced out in feb(tentatively)
                        @fullmoon:
As far as I know, the bend silencer is 1.6K, the bend pipe(the pipe from the engine to the silencer) is another 1.4K..

If the whole set is just 1.6K then am more happy

oops my bad, buddy.he told silencer only for 1600 Rs.u are right
but, then he told that silencer is retrofit.
do u think we still need a new bend pipe?

if we need it for looks, then its a retro fit. But for performance we need to remove catcon in the bend pipe too. If we could remove the other catcon from the bend pipe, without screwing it up. then we can live with the same bend pipe. We need to check it after we get the bike

                              r u willing to buy classic 500 or 350?
yes,for performance, removing catcons will make the bike breath easily, but at the cost of thump and i think it will sound like a race bike

Prabhu will surely buy the 500!

My stupid cousin went ahead&bought the STD 350 10-15 days back, in spite of my asking him to wait for the Classic! Now its gonna be phased out&he is gonna be very jealous whenever he sees a Classic 350 go by!
                                Quench my thirst with gasoline!
