your cousin idea is a good one.std 350 is the real classic bullet with its signature thump and cast iron engine.RE will not stop spare production for this. u know yesterday my cousin told still lot of demand for std is in palakkad(kerala) and people are ready to shell more than 40,000 Rs.even for a 10 year old std bullet. now that is real Bullet.BUT performance will not be like classic 350

sorry that I am not going through the effort of reading through the past posts in this thread !

What is the booking amt for classic 500 ?
When are the first deliveries expected to be made ?

And lastly...Any prefered showroom in pune to book enfields ?

I am getting this bike for sure. Will go to a showroom tomorrow and book it if the booking amt and waiting time isnt much !

U know what fullmoon? i am that stupid cousin of his! I knew a year back that the standard 350 is going to be phased out. That was all the more reason for me to buy the standard as soon as possible! As you said standard bullet is the original classic and once its production is stopped i am sure that the demand and resale value will skyrocket!that is when i will sit back and smile..

          @Sarvajit.

you are right bro. i was always in love with the Bullet standard 350 and i will never part with it come what may! Royal Enfield is what it is today solely because of this single model, the most famous royal enfield of all time and soon to be a real classic, hail standard bullet 350 and peace to all!

i hope this doesn't turn in to classic vs STD 350 fight thread :P

but for me STD 350 is THE bullet. nothing matters.
though classic is good, new engine retro styling and all.. but nothing can beat STD 350 for what it is.
Sad to know that the production will be stopped

                    STD vs. Classic

Ok - let me try and get some advise on this forum
I have a 1959 Bullet 350, immaculately restored and with all possible period original period parts including long legs, QD hubs, amal carb etc etc.the list is endless.............I have spent over 2 lakhs on this bike.

Until now I was bitten by the Vintage bug but now I want a bike which will help me satisfy my touring requirements. Dont get me wrong, The 59 runs like a dream but I just dont have the heart to trash it. Also the drum brakes and aeging technology makes reliability a bit of an issue.

The biggest problem of all - my wife will not let me keep two bikes. No arguments here....and I dare not even try.

Ever since I have seen the Classic 500, am tempted to sell off the 59 and buy a mordern, reliable machine, but when I look at the beauty in my garage...I get reminded of the pain, money and the effort that has gone in to building her.

                    Gentlemen - Advise please

First you need to post the pics of the bike on a new thread then take an opinion poll that will give you interesting answers.

                        • @malliah - dude , dont sell a bike on which you have spent so much time, love and energy, not to forget the money. Arrange to get another bike.
