Power 1 is semi synthetic and power1 racing is fully synthetic. I used Power1 for 2K kms, it was good, but i intend to shift to fully synthetic oil, thats why thinking of power1. it costs 680 bucks here in kolkata.

whats ur style of riding i mean if you're into constent high speed riding (ie 7000-10000 RPM) thn go for power 1 racing otherwise it'll be a waste to put tht oil and putter in city.... it's best to stick to power1 cuz i'm using it and beleive me man its serving the purpoes well as i'm a "RED LINE WORSHIPPER"......

2 reason of using fully synthetic oil...1 is my bike is vibrating a lot these days, no matter to whom and where i go for servicing, it is still there

2nd is my engine is getting hotter than usual...so someone suggested me to go for a good synthetic oil. i do normally cruise at 6k-7k rpm, but not at all the time.

        • I have used power1, power1 racing, true4 and motul.

the best of the lot is motul 15w50 (not 5w40). p1 racing is awesome if you are a red liner.. the bike breathes very freely even when compared to motul. But it drains quickly around 2.5k kms.. I have used motul for 4k+ kms and the oil was still good!
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

Does Power1 racing last only 2.5k kms? I thought fully synthetic oils usually last min 4-5k kms.

            • ^^ In my case it was just for 2.5k kms and I have tried it twice!

no doubt about motul, many of my co-bikers uses of our group uses it, but hard to find where i stay

ok, got enough(more will make me more confuse) info about power1 racing, so i will use it from next service

                  • The grade of Engine Oil recommended for Apache, RTR, RTRFI, by company is of 20-W-40 with rating JASO MA 2.

If anybody having test facility in their vicinity for the Max. BHP and Max. Torque after changing the oil, please post their reviews. That wud clear many doubts about performance change. I'm also in search of same test facility.

A Dynamometer (Dyno) is what you're looking for mate
Each run on a dyno costs nothing less than 500 Rs. There wouldn't be any changes in peak power or peak torque figures with just an oil change.
Since the Dyno can't quantify things such as throttle response, eagerness to rev etc, a dyno run would be an expensive as well as a pointless exercise.

                      Cheers !

Shell has got one and only [mineral] oil (No SS/FS) for 4 Stroke bikes in India and Shell Advance 4T 20W40, that is.

Costs 202 INR, I currently use it , and my review is that it is quite good

I guess u are asking about the API grading

Anyways, Shell Advance 4T is a JASO MA, API SF , SAE 20W40 Oil.

                              Sorry.. My bad
The SF rating isn't what's recommended for my Uni. So that puts Shell outta the equation.

Any idea if the Shell petrol pumps stock 10W30 mineral variants..?

Awwww man, i never used to check these API gradings before using it

I just check the Grades, now i am not sure if i can use it in my bike

And for ur query, the answer is a Biiiig NO Shell has got only a single Product (Advance 4T 20W40) for 4 Strokers in India. I enquired in the petrol pump, they said they dont have any other oil for 4 Strokes , I confirmed the same in their website too..

So bad, that Shell , such a huge Petroleum Brand , offers only this to India
