          Since you say that your bike's power is identical even though it is smoking, the mixture you are running may be too rich. A rich mixture will result in dark smoke out of the exhaust at higher rpms, especially when you open the throttle fully. All you need to do is, lean down the mixture as you are simply wasting fuel. This also explains the low fuel efficiency. In the long run, an overly rich fuel mixture will result in the engine, especially the head getting clogged with carbon. This could result in lack of power.

          On the other hand, white smoke may occur if the rings are letting out oil into the combustion chamber. This is almost a disaster in modern bikes as it simply means that there is a manufacturing defect in your engine or it has been abused very badly, very early. Also, there will be a significant power loss as the bike will be loosing compression. For this, you could get a compression test done to check the compression status. Having said this, I sincerely hope and pray that this isn't the case with your bike. If the worst case is true, take the bike back to your A.S.S. and claim warranty. Tell the dealer that this happened all of a sudden even as you were riding very gently to run it in. That's the best you can do. I know people who have abused the bike and gotten away with the damage by claiming warranty.
          I was in a hurry so i was not able to tell that it had done 1/2km donkey wheelie by my friend after which it started smoking but after cooling down smoke is all gone its running good as for the mixture the service center people have tuned it very lean.
          BTW thankyou everybody.

          • @M.R.B: Its a single hi-beam HID. Lo - beam is halogen. HID runs from battery. Halogen runs from alternator.

            • Guys wait till Tuesday 27.1.09, cause i don't have scanner in my home, i have to use my office one, I supposed to send it through mail only. And i request you do not post any where, it is only for your soul purpose and info.

              Yesterday after spending 4 hours in the SS, the service engineer himself convert my bike to DC. Now everything runs through DC, looks cool, waiting for LED for pilots & Number plate bulb, that way it will consume less juice from battery. I must say after changing the setup, the headlight give better light with the stock bulb. Road is open to test a HID

              @Aparajith Can u post a picture of your bike, the headlight section, without the light on, I wanna see how u manage two bulb in single assembly.

              • @Kauria: Check these pics man ::

                Notice two bulbs already present in the assembly - A halogen and a HID. This bulb assembly can be fixed in any normal H4 socket, so no issues.
