I called the dude today to check on something and he said they don't do tubeless. So if you buy the tyre from him you will have to take it elsewhere for tubeless fitting.Originally posted by julianpaul View PostMauli Tyre, Kharghar.
what's the diff between the zapper-F, FV and FS ? its all very confusing now. and the mrf showrooms are staffed with clueless a$$e$ who only want to sell the tyres they have in stock right there.Originally posted by nav75 View PostThat 2.75x18 Zapper FV.

No idea whats F. Running FV on Fiero and FS on CBZ. Happy with both their performance.Originally posted by julianpaul View Postwhat's the diff between the zapper-F, FV and FS ? its all very confusing now. and the mrf showrooms are staffed with clueless a$$e$ who only want to sell the tyres they have in stock right there.
As per MRF website, FV is softer than FS (comes as stock fittment on ZMA, atleast).
Their thread pattern are also diff.2000 Suzuki Fiero | 2004 Bullet Electra | 2004 RX135 | 2005 CBZ | 2009 Karizma | 2009 Punto 1.4 Petrol | 2011 Yamaha YZF-R15

I'm gonna buy the FV tomorrow (tuesday) for the cbz running zma alloys. getting it for 1250 with tube. since it has 3 ribs (4 grooves) instead of one groove in the FS, does that reduce braking performance?Originally posted by nav75 View PostNo idea whats F. A few problems.
Ok, time for a few issues from my side.
1. Today morning when I went near the RTR, it kind of smelt like Petrol was leaking. I checked below the tank and nothing. Placed some tissue paper below the tank, bnear the fuel pump to see if there were any leakages and it came out clean. Checked below the vehicle where it was standing and nothing. But the bike still smells of petrol below the tank even now(not as strong as petrol pouring out, more of the sort of light smell u get when u open the tank). Anyone else facing this problem?
2. Does anyone else feel that the RTR is too damn short geared. Having used the R15 which has tall ratios and the Pulsar which I had made tall(40T rear), the RTR feels very short. Sometimes I feel the necessity of a 6th. And 1st gear wheelies are very normal. I sincerely feel that it could have done a lot better with a 1T more in the front or 2 - 3T less at the rear(I assume the RTR runs a 13T/40T). I am planning to use the 200/220's rear sprocket. Have any of u tried this?
3. The power missing for a split second between 2K-3K rpm was present yesterday. I could not feel it much in lower gears, but I could feel it in the higher gears especially inside city. Have u people asked this at the SC. What was their answer?Last edited by Aparajith; 01-20-2009, 11:47 AM.Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. I didn't feel any big difference in braking perf of FV & FS (used on CBZ). May be a fraction of milli second here and there, couldn't notice.Originally posted by julianpaul View PostI'm gonna buy the FV tomorrow (tuesday) for the cbz running zma alloys. getting it for 1250 with tube. since it has 3 ribs (4 grooves) instead of one groove in the FS, does that reduce braking performance?2000 Suzuki Fiero | 2004 Bullet Electra | 2004 RX135 | 2005 CBZ | 2009 Karizma | 2009 Punto 1.4 Petrol | 2011 Yamaha YZF-R15

1. check your hoses. also make sure the tank cap is fiting snugly. at the svc cnt i saw an rtr with a cap fit the other way around !!Originally posted by Aparajith View PostOk, time for a few issues from my side.

2. It's definitely short geared. Probably to give the impression of having 'ferocious' acceleration. however, the gearing is very necessary for decent pickup with a (heavy) pillion. you'd think it wouldn't kill them to fit a 6th...
3. i used to have a bit of a 'flat spot' somewhere between 1.5-2k earlier, nowadays i usually accelerate too fast to be in that rpm band too notice. so there's your solution : just twist that grip! i think its all the easy run-in guys who notice this issue.
cheers for the inputs mate. btw, i checked the mrf brochure, it doesn't say the FV is a sticky compound, the FS is. And its the FS thats standard fitment on all the bikes.Originally posted by nav75 View PostI didn't feel any big difference in braking perf of FV & FS (used on CBZ). Yeah, I saw that too. Man, they have moved the "sticky" rubber from FV to FS.Originally posted by julianpaul View Postcheers for the inputs mate. btw, i checked the mrf brochure, it doesn't say the FV is a sticky compound, the FS is. And its the FS thats standard fitment on all the bikes.
Anyways, I'm happy with both of them. Your call, which one you want to go for.2000 Suzuki Fiero | 2004 Bullet Electra | 2004 RX135 | 2005 CBZ | 2009 Karizma | 2009 Punto 1.4 Petrol | 2011 Yamaha YZF-R15

I got the geocruiser today. 1450. got a jan 09 piece. it was nice and sticky, like it just came out of the mold. saw many people are fitting zapper-Qs to their rears. i'll be fitting the FV tomorrow.Originally posted by nav75 View PostYeah, I saw that too. btw, the zapper-c is probably the only mrf tyre NOT available in 100/90-18. every other tyre is. good news for most RTRs is that it is available in 3.00-18"
