apparently..can be fitted.
If that's true then the R15's rear tyre also would fit onto the Apache 150's rear wheel correct?
nope. R15 is 100/80 -17 while the apache is 100/80-18R.I.P kriss.

It was quite a hectic day today for me, Am sure most of u will turn green with envy today. Well, here are my list of accomplishments on the RTR fi.
1. Changed the oil since I had done 260 kms till date. Got the SHELL 20W40 mineral oil. Draining the oil from the bike, I found lots of aluminium pieces and metal pieces deposited on the drain nut. Guess, I have run-in the engine really well.

2. Changed the front and rear tires. For the front I fixed the R15's tire. The guy took both the front+rear TVS tires for 1500 bucks. I already had a 1K km run Nylogrip Zapper tire(the stock that comes on ZMA, CBZ-X etc). Fixed that on the RTR. The handling is amazing. Just top notch.
3. Removed the stock headlamps and pilots. Fixed a dual beam HID. For lo-beam its a 55W halogen and for hi-beam its a HID. Just used it on the way back and people were just staring at my bike.
TVS make THE BEST refloctors. Wow!!! What a beam spread. This bike should be a dream on hi-ways if the gearing were much better.
4. As for the leaking fuel pump, got it replaced under warranty. The mech. guys there tried to tighten the bolts holding the pump in place, but it was useless. So they finally replaced it under warranty. Later found that the beading was improper and so the seating was not good.
Has anyone sprocketted their RTRs. The stock is really bad. Its driving me crazy. I plan to go atleast 2 - 3 teeth less at the rear. Thinking of the 200's or ZMA's rear sprockets.
BTW am meeting up with Sai morrow morning. Pls wait for his comments.

@Racing Hart: Yep, just started.
The R15 tire costed 400 bucks after taking back the tires. A new R15 tire costs around 1800 bucks IIRC. Got it from RAJA TIRES. Check here: raja tires, chennai - Google Maps
@psycho28: Got it for 1.7K. yeah, I will post the pic ASAP.
@onlinesatish: No pilots. Need to remove that for compensating use of HID and 55W bulb. Replacement......no way. Cos thats not my bike. Its my brothers'

Satish, u sure ? Cos I was quoted something above 1500 here. I did not bother to ask properly. After taking the tire, I paid him 400 bucks. And BTW I have filled Nitrogen on both the tires. So, I guess my tire pricing is not right. Don't use it as reference. Pilots take 5W + 5W. Without pilots, the 55W bulb takes some time to start up. So lets not stress it too far. Plus the HID is direct out of battery, so I wanted to make sure I give some more charge to the battery. BTW the Zapper FS 90/90 of the 200/220 costs 900 here man!! How come so cheap there?Last edited by Aparajith; 01-25-2009, 12:16 PM.Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. Liberty is when the sheep has a gun.

No offence bro.....but ur worried that u should'nt give much stress to the alternator but now ur giving the battery a tough time with the HID that too on a FI bike where battery is very important.Originally posted by Aparajith View PostSatish, u sure ? okay, enough confirmations on the R15's front tyre cost and I too know it for sure that it costs between Rs 900 & 1K and the tubeless valve at Rs 150. For teh record, the R15's rear tyre costs abt Rs 1300.
Now, Apar, about the loading coil or battery stuff... to my knowledge the power generated from all the coils is not directed to the battery (not 100% sure about the RTR Fi but this is in general)... Some are drawn for the headlight and some go to the battery... for example (just for the sake of an example) if you have 7 coils power from 3 is directed to the battery and the remaining 4 are routed to the headlight!!! something like that.
Maybe you should check this and if needed route power from more coils to the battery!
