    • A silly question from my side whenever I am speeding at around 60kmph or more(on my Orange Apache RTR 160 Fi) than when I deaccelerate and accelerate again the silencer makes some"phat phat" noise which is indeed very cheap. Is that because of dirty spark plug?Is it also called missing??

        • ^^Guys, thats because the Refresh and the Fi silencers are more free-flowing and less restrictive than the old apache. Its the backfiring. Everything is proper, just enjoy the sound.

Is it coz of the absence of the resonance box?

              • @Satish & Saty

I guess the reason is the absence of CatCon and pissible the resonator too. But the cause is when you decelerate suddenly the carb still supplies a little more fuel than required for a moment but the ignition won't happen to match that... the unburnt fuel comes into the hot silencer and might ignite there...

This is not a proper technical answer and can be not 100% correct but is just to give you an idea.

Ask if your TVS dealer has an AFR tuning device. TVS should be providing the FIDs to their dealers.
it's perfectly fine between 4000-5000 but really goes off in 2000-3000.....

well will be goin to the SS and will ask for this FID and AFR thing...

                  • regarding that sound it so sweet and i always try to get that sound on my rtr-fi....
the reason for the sound is absence of catcon and resonator and the flow of gases is unrestricted and when deccelerated the amount of exhaust gases reduces, when after this if u accelerate ..a sudden surge of gases flows in which tries to escape in narrow opening which is already flowing little gases which creates this sound..
whereas on a exhaust which has a resonator it neutralizes the amount of gases which accelerating or deccelerating...

you can find this on any freeflow and this is not because of any dirty sparkplug..

What kind of sound do you get?
You might want to check ALL the engine mounts on the bike..

                          as i told earlier
the sounds comes from near the silencer.
swingarm ka nut thoda loose tha.got it tightened but then too the noise is coming.a mechanic told me that there is something inside my silencer.
                          what to do?

                          • snehil: its not near the silencer but its from the silencer itself...there is nothing inside the silencer and u dont have to worry about that....if ur really desperate to get rid of that sound tel me,

i have a remedy for that...
wr is joel did u get that?

                            • it rained in blore late in the evening.. the rtr is quite a handful in the wet

i had changed the rear tyres to mrf zapper y 100/90/18

when i used the rear brake .. the rear used to fish tail..

is it coz of the tyre or coz of the disc ?
Lets put a smile on your face

If you brake progressively, I don't think the disc will be a problem.
