  • Alright so got my thrid service done on Saturday.

    I had also asked for replacing my left foot rest(has broken in my crash) & one pilot lamp. The foot peg costs Rs 240 & pilot lamp 20 bucks. So total bill was 490

    -> oil - 200
    -> Oild Filter - 30
    -> Lamp - 20
    -> Foot peg - 240

    • my rtr-fi engine is getting very hot after 100 or 150m , service centre guys adjusted it`s clutch but it`s of no use, the bike has covered 700km , also can i fit r-15 like plastic rear seat cover on rtr, which service centre of tvs would you recommend for rtr-fi in delhi
      any suggestion guys

        • Fi woes continue... bike turning of, missing power, tank heating up, jerking (like its choking)
          went to service center today. svc guy said he will have to replace the FI unit and related parts. covered under warranty. but no parts available now. have to wait one week for the parts. and then 2-3 days for the repairs.
          i just hope the issue is resolved after that.
          btw, how long is the warranty on the bike?

              I have 2-3 more issues pending to be resolved at SVC (e.g. self-start clutch problem, Fuel indicator faulty reading) which they said wud come in one two days. Now, the leakage is noticeable, can I wait for 1-2 days with this leakage. Havent noticed any jerky performance in front shox. Please guide me.

              If you can feel the heat of engine to the tank, then this can be a problem. Check Engine Oil.

              About fitting a plastic cowl on the rear seat, I had a try (after looking the details of R15's cover) with frame type sculpture, but the fitting at the tail-side wud be a problem, as the seat lock wont be closed until we push it from top. This force might damage the seat cover or the plastic cover itself.

              • i can feel the hot air on my legs, after riding the bike 200m or so, tank doesnot get heat up by this,
                would have definately fitted rear seat cover if it can be fitted on it

                  engine heating up in this summer is normal, but within 1 km in not so. check the oil first.

                  • Hi guys,

                    I bought a yellow RTR FI two weeks back Im in love with it

                    I have some concerns though.

                    1. I'm getting only 35-38kmpl currently. Finished 300km. Im not overdoing it either - Im always in 2k-4k rpm range and below 50kmph. Petrol is of high quality too. Whats wrong???

                    2. Until now, 3-4 times this has happened. In 4th gear at around 3500-4000 rpm, suddenly exhaust sound and rpm increased (to about 5000 rpm) but acceleration stopped. After couple of seconds its fine again. Is this what people say engine misfiring?? Why does this happen??? How to fix it??

                    3. The foot pegs are of such low quality. Especially rear ones. Its very loose too. My ooooold Splendor has much sturdier and stable rear footpegs!!!

                    4. Is it legal to change number plate to nicer one where the font of numbers is professional looking (yet very readable - in fact more than this hand written number plate) which has in-built lighting and all???

                      hot air on the legs are common in summers but ya during the first 1km is trouble....do check ur oil....

                        Pilot lamp costs only 6-7rs. Did he pt an osram one?

                        Make sure that the fork oil does'nt reach the disc plate and the caliper. Else u'll have a tough time getting back the awesome braking!

                        I stopped bothereing abt the fuel gauge sometime back. now i only use it to hve an approx idea. else i'll always calculate using reserve to reserve.

                        either there might be a loose connection some where or the gauge might have concked off!

                              hmm , well its like the holding capacity depends on the number of plates per cell so thats the thing , dunno exactly whats the rating of zma , i think better battery like exide 9ah or i have seen some 10 ah battery as well , one more thing , recently i have came to know some new type of battery has arrived in market which have some electronic circuit in it instead of traditional plates and electrolite etc , so might try that as well it gets fully charged super fast in minutes , might enquire about this product
