                    • IMO, Exide is the worst choice for battery. I'v had a very bad experience with it. Even a couple of experienced mechanics I'v spoken to say Exide is amongst the worst. In short it has a shorter life and I'v even experienced problems of electrolyte leakage. And that corrodes everything around the battery. Many of them conk off just after the warranty of 1 year.

SF batterys are made by Exide (Chloride), so I wouldn't touch them either.

Amaron sealed batterys are perhaps the best as your service centre and battery dealer wont get the chance to rape it. Nor do you need to do anything yourself other than keep it charged. Nor will the electrolyte and gas corrode your bike. Its pricier than other brands, but well worth it!

Other cheaper options are Base Terminal (Panasonic) and Amco. I just bought a BT battery for my Shogun for Rs. 600. The only reason I chose it over Amaron was that it was cheaper. It has 18 months full and total 50 months warranty.

                      • @wings_of_fury: amarons have a 5 yr warranty..wat else do u need..btw they entered 2-wheeler battery market just last yr.

i had bad experience with exides, i had 5 instances where my exide batteries died immediately after the warranty was over..1 lasted for 15 months and the battery dealer told me it was the max an exide lasts..now switched to Tata green

@Raccoon: i think amco is also a exide brand.. my discover came with a amco battery and i had to take it to exide service center to claim warranty..

                          • Tubeless tyres can be put without any mods given the size, but for the tank scoops new tank has to be installed.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

thanks for the honest opinions guys..but all the place i enquired about the maintainence free Amaraon gave very-2 negetive feedback on it! everyone suggested to go for exide as amaron gives problems, and now im confused..i gota get one tommorow
IMHO, amco brand is different from Exide!
