  • Guys......

i guess a Nightbreaker or a silverstar is pretty much useless on our RTR's since the coil does produce enough power.

But wat if we connect the headlight alone directly to the battery? Do the RTR battery powerful enough to power the headlight directly? has anyone done this before?

    • @Satish: Remove the pilots and try it. Cos that's what is running on my brother's RTR. And my HID is 35W and its running directly from battery. I have run it close to 1.5 hrs continuously. Not faced any issues(yet)!!! But NB is 55W, so u might have issues. Or better still, try out Kauria's idea of converting ur bike to DC...

@All: Thanks to Joel, I got the headlight alignment corrected. Now the beam focus is perfectly on the road, but slighly offset to the left side. I tried adjusting it, but no use. Has this got something to do with the mounting of the assembly itself?

This was discussed earlier in this thread, restarting the topic... My RTR Fi makes this *phat*phat* noise while riding it. it has become regular now.

many of u guys said u like the noise, but i am experiencing a power loss whenever i get the noise...anyone noticed this?

          • i get it mostly when i ride above 5k rpm..so cannot tell the exact source, but i think it comes from the exhaust.

i am guessing it to be a combustion gas leakage somewhere... any ideas??

if its comin from the exhaust then its completely normal....
i think it's comin the most when you leave the throttle....... right
just enjoy the sound....dont get worried for it....

              • it comes mostly during the initial stage of throttle opening or releasing,

when it occurs , it feels like the bike just had a power fluctuation

I would be happy if its only a sound... but the power loss worries me..

                  +1

mine also its become more common.. and if ive observed correctly (this might sound foolish :| ) .. its more when temperature (weather) is high. I rode it at around 2pm.. it was very frequent. I ride it usually at 8 in the morning and 5pm in the afternoon.. this sound doesnt come frequently during these times..

Does it have to do anything with the temperature of the fuel (which expands at higher temps) ?

That is how it should be. If you observe the headlight reflectors, for most of the bikes, the reflector is not symmetric. The reason could be in INDIA we follow the Left hand side rule. So one can understand where the road ends on the left side also the light does not fall into the eyes of the oncoming drivers/riders on the right hand side.

This phenomenon is clearly observed when in the low beam. When in the high beam, I never got see clearly to judge whether, the beam is oriented towards the left.

PS: the above argument is just based on my experience, it could be wrong as well.

My electrical setup is totally different from other RTR in market
I had change the switch settings in the right hand side switch lever, now the battery powers the instrument console, the parking lights (Change to LED) and the back light along with the stop light. The headlight is still got his power from magneto, and its still 35/35 watt. I didnt try out the 55/60 yet.

Now the power from magneto is only used for charging the battery and the headlight. Number plate 5 watt bulb is also disconnected from the battery circuit to reduce load from battery.

This is a really good idea man. Even I will do this...

Does Apache over head Cam RTR's Cam have more lift than Apache 150's?

                                Can this be a retrofit?
There is no extra lift. Its almost the same cam with a very slight change in duration. u wont makeout any difference with that puny apache head.
