On a serious note, i too find the exhaust note of the FI very melodious

But frankly, that's just me nitpicking; the machine overall looks tremendous, the exhaust note is really grunty. I don't believe single cylinder machines could sound any better, and ofcourse that funky blue backlit instrument panel is a sight to behold.

                Overall - A+
the exhaust note on the RTR Refresh is almost as good ...i love just parking my bike and listening to the idle...that pop pop pop sound is intoxicating. No offense but the exhaust note on all the pulsars sounds the same

                • Yes, I agree....RTR FI might be the best sounding machines right now....though i would say R15 screaming sounds equally good too

You haven't heard them all. The sheer grunt of the P180 screaming past you is a treat to the ears.

the P200 roars unlike anything made in India... check it out mate

hmmm... you hardly know when an R15 is passing by. You won't hear it unless it is beside you and then half the noise is other mechanicals & tyres. Disappointing.

We tested this in a group. An R15, a P220, an RTR, a ZMA. RTR is the best. Then the ZMA. P220 screams but that isn't plesant. Lot of noise. R15... dunno what to say. It is neither silent not can u make out a distinctive sound.

On that note, Busa is the best

ehhh...im not impressed with the 200 at all...maybe other than the looks, but even that is subjective. I think its trying to be too much at all once. The exhaust note is ok..but the RTR's is miles ahead. Most 200's ive heard..dont really roar..they sound like a mix of the 150-180-220 . When the RTR turns on..u know it means business, the 200 or matter of fact the whole pulsar range, not so much

I second that w.r.t to the pulsar family. They have a very 'general' noise. Not something that would make it stand apart. On that note the P150 and 180 classic sounded way better. miles ahead compared to their dtsi brethren.

An yeah if you look at the TVS 150cc bikes - Fiero was simply superb, almost a mini thumper. F2-Fx were a disappointment. Apache was decent, better than the pulsar dtsi and the Uni. RTR was good and the fi is wow!

anyways lets get back to the Apaches. don wanna be pulled up for OT.

                          cheers!

Well since you have spoken your mind then let me too. To me,the RTR sounds fake. Like the corvettes with tuned exhausts to give a better vocal range. The exhaust note is surely out of this world but it doesnt feel right coming from the RTR. But then it's subjective as you said. So are the looks and so are the 'business'.
I apologize if you or anyone feels that I have spoken too bluntly. The thing is, 'the interweb' doesn't allow the fact to be shown of how sincere I am to the RTR even while I wrote the above statement.

lol its ok nightwing, everyone has the right to their opinion, but i dont quite agree..to each their own though. To me the RTR is just right..the proportions, the looks, the grunt..its a racer tuned for the street. The sound is right because the machine itself is meant for racing and it would sound fake on any other bike.
