  • Hey guys something wierd happened to my rtr refresh, the day I got my bike I wanted to just reset one of the trip meters, but I didn't know how to do it, so I pressed both the buttons one at a time, nothing happened (did'nt hold for too long) so I pressed both at the same time and guess what...

The whole speedo console got reset ! I mean the odometer which was showing 22 km got reset to 0km!I can confirm it was the odo and both trip meters were also 0km.The top speed recorder was also 0.

CAUTION : Anyone reading this please do not try to see whether it works or not... it might just happen to you and you will lose all the kms you have done. (I lost 22)
I read somewhere that it is a one time thing which dealers are supposed to do before delivery. Anyone knows whats happening ?

55/60 is a very good bulb, i tried it yesterday in mostly city condition and found good result. Though the heat from the bulb is bit higher then stock 35/35. Even feel some extra heat in the magneto side engine cover. Dunno what it was with the stock setup, never thought to check. Today have a plan to visit the highway and let see whats the result.
Thanks for the useful info mate! could you please elaborate on the DC conversion thingy? Can a normal mechanic do that without screwing up the bike?
Awaiting your report on your highway ride, will then think on what best done my A-150!! Top on the charts would be getting a rear disc, if its not a big fuss!!

Yes mate, the bike is a avid tourer too..but i feel the rear-sets can be some prob, if not used to em..
have toured more than 550+ in a day too, but that was on A-150!

prolly because they havent decided where the next event is gonna be. As far as the pro-kit goes, it may take another 3-4 months for that to come out..lets bank on july-august.

does rear tire pose problem it seems to be really on diet man! sometimes i wonder they could have fitted a cycles tyre to improve mileage and performance

                    Any feedbacks on that?

                    • FI problem

To solve the FI problem, just check up the FI system with PC Diagnostic Tools at Service Centre. And adjust the Idle RPM, CO and Temperature, after this everything will be fine. Mine was shuts off when slowing down, breaking at square etc. and I had also to accelerate when starting the bike. After adjusting Idle RPM, CO and temperatur, now it runs smoothly and pleasingly. Always insist and demand that Service Centre mechanic checks the system and adjusts the FI with the PC Diagnostic Tools. EFI bikes only can be tuned and checked and adjusted with the PC Diagnostic Tools.

Do this, your FI problem will be solved.

                        • FYI, I rode the RTR kitted bike. Must say that I didnt find it any greatly impressive over my modified RTR.
The 20bhp claim is definetly not true. Should be just about 2-3bhp more than stock and nothing else.
Its free revving and surely faster, but does not have the grunt of what my modified RTR has.
Mine was clocking 135kmph in a distance of 800mtrs while with full stock mass while this one as per the spec sheet clocks a true 125kmph.
So if this RTR is claimed to be 20bhp, what was mine pumping then?
A proper dyno test will reveal the truth. I'm sure the marketting team got a little excited over the numbers.
FYI, I was also running stock gearing when I clocked that 135kmph.
All said, its a good improvement over stock and performance for the masses. Not all can get my set-up, so its for laymen.

Good effort by TVS to offer performance to the masses.

                          • ^^ AFAIK, the 20Bhp setup is the fully race spec one that they showcased. But the perf kit one was rated at around 18Bhp!

Dude, I was there for the ARE.
They were claiming the Group B RTR to be 23bhp and the Pro-kitted RTR160 to be 20bhp.
                              The RTR 160FX was 19bhp.
All this is a marketting stint.
The pro-kitted bike had the following figures,
                              top - speed - 125
                              400mtrs - 17.5

Now look at my RTR but I wont claim its 20bhp.
                              Top speed - 135
400mtrs - 17.2secs in the deccan 1/4 drag ridden by my friend who didnt push the bike at all.
During testing, I clocked 16.8 secs. I had to ride my Fiero, so left the RTR to him.
So how much is mine then 22bhp? Mine itself is around a true 19-19.5bhp at the crank i strongly believe.
Its not right to mislead people.

What I'm saying is, thats the figures they showed the world at the Auto Expo last year!

And that means they have just bumped up their figures a bit!
