i have been riding a galdiator. its a good bike, but you get bored of it after some time... so am looking for a change of character... and for thrills i guess RTR wud be better than FZ. and not to mention the mileage as an added benefit.

        • Guys!

Need your suggestions. I am planning for some mods (cosmetic) for my bike - Apache 150. I have listed them down. Please pour in your ideas, improvements and examples if you have seen anything like this.here goes..

          1) Changing the entire footpeg assembly ( 4 foot pegs, gear lever, brake lever, L&H assembly) to the RTR type ones. Is this feasible? The only problem i see is the Stock silencer and to a lesser extent the kick starter. What kind of a modification do I have to make to the stock silencer to make way for the footpeg assembly on the right hand side? or do i have to go for a new one? (i may depending on the budget)

          2) My handle bar has taken a beating and I have taken a fancy to the FZ16's flat handlebar. It should fit right? it costs only 180 bucks (excluding the grips etc) will it be longer than my stock handlebar?

          3) I want to change the headlight assembly to a round one retaining the meters. Any idea on what headlight doeme i should be thinking of? classic pulsar? Needless to say i also want to conceal all the wires and cables that were comfortably nestling under the old headlight....

          waiting for your replies....

As i said, the fuel starvation problem was sorted out right at the start. And i have never had the jerking/missing problem.

I absolutely loved the gladiator (rs i had tested before i bought the FI) but didn't buy it as the footpegs weren't rearset enough. Didn't wanna mod a new bike that extensively.

Please, please try the rtr first and experience the vibes firsthand. They occur at around 6k rpm. It could be a make or break decision. The change of character could be more than you asked for!

I did test ride the RTR FI, but that was a very short ride.
regarding the vibrations, i have done a 1500km trip on the original vibromatic... the Apache 150 ... I was fine with that bike. and I think vibrations in Fi will not be more than that. hope its improved. right?

Vibes are subjective. But i never thought any bike could vibrate more than a bajaj. Guess i was wrong

                  • Vibes are a character of the Apache. It reduced a bit on the RTR. As far as the RTR Fi is concerned, the vibes have quite considerably reduced. I test rode the Fi and rode a friend's bike for a good 10 - 15 kms in varying rpms. The vibes set in at around 6K and stay on till a 7K. Thats it. Its much much lesser than the RTR. And regarding the power missing betwee 2K - K rpms, TVS is sorting out things with its fuel lines and stuff. I personally verified it from RAMKAY. Also since Fi is new for TVS, IT IS bound to take some time. But rest assured TVS are doing the best they can.

P.S: I have just booked a orange TVS RTR Fi for my younger brother.

the oil gets trapped around the walls and then it seeps back from time to time but as you told that it got serviced 2 months back thn i think that is water mixed with oil that got into silencer and now leakin out.........

                          • Got my FI last week. Great bike. Love the sound. Just beautiful to hear. Vibes are bit discomfort. As I have read from the posts, will have to wait till the first servicing is done for the vibration problem to be solved.

I don't understand this attitude with people making excuses for problems in the RTR/Fi and defending TVS like it's their uncle's company.

make an issue about the problems and the company will sit up, take notice and do something about it. make excuses and they will say, forget it, the fanboys will defend us.

their is no excuse for justifying a negative attribute of a product as 'character'.
