  • When returning home from office I found that engine is much hotter then the normal. Reachin home check the plug, it is clearly shows the symtoms of lean burn. I didnt adjust the carb yet after replacing the plug. Is it needed to richen the mixture, or is it standrad.
I am herewith enclosing a picture of the plug for your reference.

** Anybody here use Valvoline Premium 4T full syntheic white oil in RTR. If yes kindly tell us about it. In Kolkata it is approx Rs.225.00.Is it OK for RTR.The grade is 20W40.

    • There is oil leakage from the head of my RTR refresh it is so much that oil has spilled over the front mudguard.
What would have happened, i am going to the service center tomorrow.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

will the SC guys do it if i ask them now so that they can change it at the time of delivery?
Is the Fi version available in grey color too? Here in Lucknow, they are offering only the yellow and orange version.

Hmmm....not sure abt LED's....but i have seen few RTR with LED's......they aint so bright like our normal bulb's. Sam has a blue LED in his bike. We have to change the holders too......me thinking to put CBZx's ppilot lamp on RTR.

hmmm... do you need to set the Air Fuel Mixture when you change the spark plug??? Not sure... but this is the first time I've heard about this... I guess, you don't need to.

Valvoline Premoum 4T is a Semi Synth Oil and its grade is 20W50 as far as I have seen it. If the one you have got is 20W40 for sure, then it should be fine. Also, one mechanic I meet regularly is complaining on Valvoline mineral and the premium oils that the engine is heating up more with this oil!!!

But, to me, your problem seems beyond both these cases!

How much did the bike run? Was anything on the engine or the head or clutch plates compartment opened recently?

May be you should try what Satish told and if the problem persists, force them to change the tire and alloy!

yeah.. the rtr pilots are a pain in the arse! I have switched to p200 pilots. no probs till now.. they are brighter too it costed me 100 bucks!
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

Did u change the holders too, or be able to manage with the stock holders. Because P200's pilots are plug in type where RTR's bulbs are old socket type.

I think i will stick with the stock tyres and if it proves t be bad for me, ill change it later.

yes, grey is avilable here. yellow is readily avilable. orange and grey has waiting.
i dont understand the logic behind providing only 3 colors for fi. either provide completly different set of color for fi or provide all the colors in both versions. i wud have loved the red... sigh...
