    • Tubeless tyres for the RTR/Fi

We had a lot of folks here saying tvs is B/Sing by saying that we cannot fit tubeless tyres to the rtr rims and they have done so.

can any of these people who have sucessfully fit tubeless tyres to their stock rtr rims please post details about tyre brands, sizes, price and any other mods required?

Also, some R15 owners are reporting loss in tyre pressure with their stock tubeless. Any such probs with the tubeless rtr guys?

I had a puncture late-night last weekend .. two nails and four holes meant a tube change of about 300 bucks not to mention the %@$%^# mech screwed the rims totally. Guess tubeless would be better than changing tubes every month or so. New bombay seems to have more nails on the road than in the hardware shops!

@Kauria: I remember u experimenting with a 55/60W setup for the headlamp. Did u remove the pilots and test it? If so was it any better than the stock 35/35 setup?
I have tried the same but there is not much improvement. One of my friend gave me his old Philips 35/35 watt bulb, and the lighting is superb, much better then the stock Osaram. I am looking for a new of the same, but local shops certify that Philips is stop production for the same. Any how old is still gold and doing duty perfectly with a bright white light. The part no for the same is kind of M35, dont know the other words gone erased.

IIRC All bikes sold barring the Avenger/220 use the 35/35 bulb setup.
P.S: Am not mentioning bullets, DIO etc..

Had one doubt tho.... have any of you FI owner faced any issues with the FI? like the P220 had? any 'known' issues?
and lastly, should I be waiting for an updated version or something next year? (jan-feb)

known issues with the FI would be the infamous knocking at low rpm but i heard on this forum that the service centres have a standard fix for this now.

my fi had a fuel starvation problem at mid to high rpms the very day i bought it, they fixed it in a couple of days ... said it was a fuel pipe problem.

other issues would the vibrations, in my case its severe enough that pillions are unable to keep their feet on the pegs above 6k rpm, the rider of course will not notice it if he's riding real fast and focussing on other things than vibes, but its there and pronounced.

guess yamaha quality would be better, i personally prefer the rtr over the fz but the problems i mentioned made me really think hard. tvs needs to get their act together and put out more refined bikes. performance is there, but end of the day these are street bikes and not out-and-out racers and rider/pillion comfort is a major attribute.

theres one issue to be very frank....in the initian first 750kms the bike will givin out the missing till 2500 RPM only when it is hot.......
i experienced this in the other FI's too(4 in total),but after the first serv it got dissappered..

the second one are the vibes but they'll iron out to major extent with the use of synth oils...
but still 6000RPM will make it the king of the VIBE hill......

apart from these two, shell out the money run to the TVS showroom and just GET THIS BIKE......

                        GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you ride not exceeding 55-60 kmph and don't race the engine to acheive that speed then you might as well get good mileage from the RTR

But today i got only 39kmpl on the highway.....which is very less for the kind off riding i did today.....it should have returned atleast around 43kmpl.....!
You did the NH9 between Hyd & Vijayawada. You are bound to get such bad mileage. No fun this is.

But who cares.....petrol is only 51 in hyd now.....stopped using premium feuls now....so 10rs less in fuel prices for me
u should! Rs 51 a liter is no less. BTW, somehow I never got comfy with the premium fuels.... get them in only when there's no option.

Both the topics have been discussed in this thread earlier. Also, please check the engine oils thread.

there shouldn't be any problem in going with tubeless tires...

Are you sure they are pretty bright? May be most of the guys are shooting their beams at trees instead of the roads...!

I can run Speed 97 on the group D - stock spec engine.
BUt on the modified set-up, I need something higher coz pinging cant stop even with 97. Need atleast 100 octane coz of the higher dynamic compression.
