  • Guys read my post carefully I said no Major advantages were found that doesnt mean there are no advantages.

The single most common advantge is that if a bike falls & you are under it the crash guard will help by having some space between the road & the bike which will help the leg.

The big crash guards have sometimes infact proven to be more dangerous in cases where the guard bends so much that it traps your leg in it.

Well if you are crashing intoa divider then a roll-cage would be more helpful than a crash guard J/k

Also incase of crash people dont realise that they should ideally be not holding onto the bike but let it go.

See a crash guard is a good to have thing but nota must to have just like the Saree guard.

Anyways we can discuss this probably in some other thread in detail.

                        • Guys!

we have all read about the guy on orkut who has changed his pilot lamps to led's. Unfortunately I could not understand much from his pics or his explanations. I have bought some leds and I plan to do the same. Is there anybody who done something similar or who can guide me through some basic fundas in doing such a thing?

Well, the thing is that LED used to consume only 1.5 volt, so 1.5 volt x 2 = 3 volt. Where two normal bulbs consume about 10 watt direct from magneto. You can switch to LED, but I will suggest you to route the LED via direct battery power not from magneto. There is huge chance to fuse of LED if connect via magneto.
Secondly you have to change the holders to pulsar type, because in Apache the pilot holders are old bulb style. But most LED's comes with the push type socket like in pulsar’s.

I am almost getting 45kmpl in mixed condition ride, but in highway it returns about 40 kmpl. In my last trip I filled up with Premium petrol, and the ride was definitely much smooth and cooler engine compare to the normal petrol. It’s just four rupee higher then the normal. I will definitely go for the Ex Premium.

@Kauria: I remember u experimenting with a 55/60W setup for the headlamp. Did u remove the pilots and test it? If so was it any better than the stock 35/35 setup?

                              • I have been glued to this thread and the FZ thread for some time now. because I want to buy a new bike and it would be either FZ or RTR-FI. mostly its going to be the RTR-FI.
Had one doubt tho.... have any of you FI owner faced any issues with the FI? like the P220 had? any 'known' issues?
and lastly, should I be waiting for an updated version or something next year? (jan-feb)
