    3. Any idea how much does a new front rim cost ?
    4. Which is the best service centre for RTR in bangalore?
    1) For the first 3000 KMs stick to normal oil, after that switch to a fully syntethic oil... I have used Motul Factory line and its a pretty good buy... a, yet to try Castrol Power 1 Racing, but am told that its very good!

    2) Did you recently have a puncture or a tube change? Go to the SVC and check if you are using the right tube... a lot of puncture wallahs are reckless in using tubes to earn that extra 10-20 rupees. However, If you are confident that you have fudged your alloys, then better change them.

    3) - 4) No clue

      Are you talking about:
      1 Unicorn
      2 FZ16
      3 GS150R

Those are on my Radar but I found RTR to be best handled bike among FZ16 and RTR. Will test ride Unicorn this weekend.

      Thanks guys for informative responses.

      • I have a 100/80/17 (IRC tubeless) front and 110/90/18 (M45 tubed) on my rear..
bike behaves awfully unstable on the corners.. Is it because of my fat front tyre?

I jus had an accident.. my bike slipped sideways while taking a corner!

@pun: rtr is gonna launch in us?? whoa!
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

          May be the case! ....
The RTR has a not so great rear tyre.... and you seem to have fixed it perfectly.. go back to stock front tyres and check the handling!

Oh you crashed!!! So did you total your Made In Pakistan Jacket.. you traitor

Fudge... am telling you that jacket is conspiring against you

Jokes apart... Take a good mesh jacket, it helps... remove the armour if you want, rely on the foam padding... that would still save you from some bruise n all!

              • @Razor: Check if the tire is properly mounted on the rim (i.e) beading is proper. And yes, the fat front does affect manouevarability and flickability. It might be the reason!

actually if we go into physics ..
bigger the object the more surface tension ...so more the grip ..
i guess he fell from his bike because of wobbling but not the tyre ...

Thats true, and thats' precisely why its got a negative effect too. Manouverability itself becomes a rather tedious task. The front end will feel very heavy due to increased contact, weight and many such factors.

Guys, it would help everyone if there is a single thread which has dos and donts when the bike is new or old for the fi.. it will be very nice if it has recommendations for the tyre choices both front and rear with the brand and the model number so that newbies like me do not end up buying the wrong one.. also the engine oil..

Do u seriously want to know the details? If yes, then try turning the handlebar of any SBK like we do on our desi vehicles while in motion or in a stationary position. Owners like Rossiter, Ken etc can confirm that. And second, for the power they produce the added weight and grip due to the wide contact patch is certainly not high. And third, for the braking prowess they have, a smaller front tire would certainly add to skidding woes. Hope am clear.

                              • in sbk if u find the sizes of the tyre, it will be 120/140 front and 180/200 rear..
but my combination is pathetic.. 100 front and 110 rear!

I have cornered on the same road with my stock tyres.. i would go in an ease..
but after changing the tyre i skidded.. may be a lot of other factors too.. that's y i am confused
