    2. engine noise is high , its like some coins are rolling inside engine...

i took the bike from mehdoot banlore..i have visited the SVC guys so far 25 times only for this issue in the 3 months (i took the bike on april 14 09)..nothing has been rectified everytime they ll keep the bike for 2 or 3 days & ll say its rectified but the same day ill face the problem....wht to do guys

    its really IRRITATING

This is the least I can do for him!! Cost comes to a total of 4.5K. Will have to add this to the trip cost as well!!
OMG, that's terrible. Isnt there any other way to get the money from those bu$$ers?

          • @All: thanks for the support guys!! As I mentioned earlier, no amount of danda or whatever therapy helps. I kept shouting and they kept repeating "If u had opted for insurance, we will repair it. That is the reason insurance is available". Even then I dont trust them. Cos with insurance, these guys claim money, repair the bike and give it to me. Its not like settlement to us. So, u really cant say what they will do.

Anyways past is pat. Just got the bike today with the new fuel tank and all associated components installed. The RAMKAY guys always treat me well. the total bill came to 4.5K.. FYI, the tank costs 3.5K.

The svc guys say that the cone set is proper and no issues. I do feel that its ok in high speeds and the bike does not wallow or wobble. But at slow speeds or hi-speed cornering, the bike tends to kind of twitch slightly to the left. Have to check if its the bike or my mind/brain playing games. Will get it checked from a friend of mine.

And last, I had kept a cloth between my saddle bag and the rear panel. Even then riding on terrain has removed the paint from the panels. Any ways to mask it? Am not interested in any ugly stickering. Any good ideas with pics(if possible) welcome! Asked for the RTR Fi sticker, so that I can stick on that paint removed part and I got a shock. The sticker comes only with the panel and not separate it seems!!! So save the sticker people.....

Will post the pics here tonight as I cannot upload pics from my mobile at office!

P.S: Compared to the Leh experience replacement of the fuel tank now looks like an OK compromise!!

            • Sad to hear about the tank. My idea is to get the side panels touched up by a local painter for a couple of 100s. They have computer shade matching. If he can clear coat it after painting, it will be like it never even got damaged!

Yeah, thats ur way. I know. And I might soon be going in for speedo replacement. It is fine till about 6K rpm after which it just goes bonkers covering well beyond 12K rpm. Have to check it tomorrow. I also have the replaced tank with me which am planning to repair and have as a spare in case of future use.

                          • @Apar: Sorry to hear about the RTR man. The last time id heard/seen this kinda mishandling by a mover was Sunil sir's Comet.
Prabhu, Sunil sir, Sumit etc all had a similiar torrid experience with a mover during their Leh trip. Wonder if revealing the name of that mover, here is the right thing to do.
Are the other bikes (Kirosh's Zma, Xinfii's P220 etc) in the same condition as your RTR?

                            • Besides other methods, think about getting prints the pics showing the damage and stand outside their office. Show it to all potential customers and watch how most of them run away from there... Better if you rope in some friends while you are at it.

I had actually done something like this this with a dealer quite sometime back when I was a kid... with some pretty interesting effects.

Nothing wrong Maverick. Its in-fact better. The other members will have enough knowledge. IIRC it was GATI who brought it from Delhi for them. No idea on who took it from Bangalore. Xinfii's 220 was fine cos it was handed over to another P&M from Delhi as it was to be sent to Pune. Kiran's ZMA had a broken fairing. I think, the BULL had no issues.

Its not like there are no methods to even out this issue yaar - Legal or illegal. Its just that I have better things to worry about. Besides I wud like to put this episode behind and remember the good trip rather than brooding over the sad ending to it! Moreover am plain happy that I endured this only once on the return and not while taking it to Delhi. then it would have caused lot more problems!! There are things to learn from this. I put up the pics here primarily to let u people know about the P&M and about the procedures at TVS/insurance. Thats it.
