Close to 8500 kms

before you get it wrong, the bike had opened up around 2k or so but it somehow now feels better than earlier may be its the weather (Yes bikes do feel better in slightly colder weather)

if your injector is of black colour..go to the showroom and get it replaced with the new "silver" one under warranty....

Thanks Renny.But mine is the silver one.Right now I'm using Shell Super unleaded and knocking has reduced a lot but still shows up sometimes.
Few members have suggested me to stick to normal unleaded petrol which I'll be doing in a few days.
What causes knocking? I know it may be due to bad fuel quality,timing or overheated engine.Is there anything else I'm missing?

knocking can be caused by factors like dirty fuel,clocked injector and air filter,clogged fuel filter too....
timing cant be a problem as these machines just can be out on that....

well that's not a recent pic, it was clicked when my bike was 1 week old....

You can give us some tips like , how frequently you wash it, servicing at Authorised center or local mechanic, other tips on fuel additives, chain cleaner, lubricant, engine oil etc. It will be helpful for many new RTR owners like me.

thanks bro....

well on the maintanance part i wash it twice a week with just water and kerosene on the oil stained areas, i had free services at the SC rest i go to my mech who does this oil changing for me, rest all i do it in home like, air filter cleaning,chain and clutch adjustment etc..

i recently cleaned my chain with kerosene and cleaned it throughly, now i'm not gonna lube it and will ride it like this for a day or to then will spray WD40 on it.....

Thanks for the info. WD40 is only a cleaner and not a lubricant , Right?

yes it's a cleaner and though it lubes but very little...i.e it wont serve the purpose on the lube front...

Why dont you use the MOTUL chain clean and Lube ? I use it... I like it.... a bit expensive though ...Using kerosene instead of MOTUL Chain clean seems a nice option for me , as both the cans cost arnd rs 930 ..So using kerosene to clean the chain and then using MOTUL Chain Lube to lube , seems a good option for me ...It could save me the 400 bucks of MOTUL chain clean can

i use SAE 90 grade oil. 1/2ltr costs 95 bucks. Would probaly last for 10k kms!

actually the lubes are attracting hell lotta dust which turns into ugly grime...
before cleaning the chain with the kerosene i rotated the whell and it was rotating good,but when i cleaned the front and rear sproakets along with the chain with kerosene the wheel was rotating like dream...

and the chain is O ring so i'll be keeping it dry for one week and see the results...

(P.S. the cleaning made it look spanking silver

)

Guys i forgot tell you all that the new lot RTR's (160,FI and 180) are coming with 32 changes in them. Out of which 31 is machnical and 1 is cosmetic!

SVC guys who test rode the new RTR is all praise's for it!

Will get hold of a new one soon and rape it to bit's

what type of changes Mr. Online, are these going to make RTRs smoother or powerfull ?????
