  • Phew! Glad to hear it was just an air block. Did you have less than, say 2 liter fuel in the tank?

      • Yesterday was a painful day for my bike, whole the day she struggle to move, sometimes I feel that filter is clogged, sometimes no fuel (in tank full condition). Power was droping when changing gears. In evening open the spark plug and found lots of black dry carbon deposit in one electrode and in the base ring. Kind of fouling. Mileage came to 36 kmpl (tank full-> Ride 200 km-> tank full = 5.54 ltr). Air filter is almost clean and dry. Engine oil is hardly 200 km old. What could be the problem?

Secondly the gear lever found sticky, along with some false natural, is that the sign of Clutch plate wear? My bike completed 13100 km.

Clear sign that the bike is running rich. For the second problem, check clutch play.

Boss recently i check the CO% when tuning the carb in SVC, found 1.3 - 2%. As per Joel the ideal is 3%. I think its not that issue, may be the air screw moves autometically or the fulty air intake system. What should be the ideal settings for 160 carb. any idea.

Clutch play is ok, about 10-15 mm free play in lever.

            • Last weekend I changed to NGK IRIDIUM plugs and MOTUL 5W40 fully synth oil. There is a visible difference in the smoothness and vibes due to the oil. And the plug is actually good as far as morning cold start issues are concerned. The idling is kinda steady. Overall not a total waste of money!

Exactly my experience with it! Firing is even too.

Well, in that case, maybe the spark plug itself is the issue.

Regarding the second problem, some engine oil too causes this. Have you changed to a new brand?

                  • guys, has anyone had the problem of handle wobbling?
it happens only at speeds between 60-70. before and after that it is ok. its not a big wobble.. but still enough for you to feel it... i dont feel confident to do speeds because of that.
had it checked at the svc, then did some adjustments to the front fork and cone set... still not fixed. what could be the prob?

How about the air screw tuning, i mean what is the defult settings?

No idea about Apache. But generally correct setting is around 2-3 turns from stop. You may decrease half a turn and see.

Wobbling? no way man. I never found it on my RTR its rock steady from 0kmph to 131kmph(speedo). I never faced that. Pulsars do wobble after 80 and odd, but nothing like with RTR. Check the front wheel for worn bearings and imbalance.

and today was a bad day for my fi
earlier the bike used to turn off while riding in a very smooth manner but it happened ocassionally and now its becoming frequent
today while coming back to home there was a new problem of no throtle response in the range og of 2 to 3k rpm and then the bike used to shut down after that.it happened even at the signal and iwas standing in middle of the road starting the bike and every one behind me blowing horns.
and at last vibrations have increased a lot and i face problem while shifting gear from 1 to 2.

it may have occured by sharp bump with low tyre pressure in front or a sharp hit at signal when u was checking in a eye candy!
