  • Got my bike checked yesterday for the non functioning lights, came to know that the taillamp wires have burned and i now have to replace it with a new taillamp....and this was the reason for the light not working. As a temp measure, i got the tailamp disconnected. Am using the RTR only during day time...nights its my Zma.

    Damn, now i need to cough up approx 5k for all the replacemnts, rear tyre, chain kit, crash gaurd and now the taillamp assy! Guess i wont use the RTR much for couple of months!

      Are the wires only burnt or the resistor, LEDs etc. all are gone?

      You can check the continuity across the LED array to know whether LEDs are gone or are safe.

        SVC folks said its burnt. they tried rplacing the wire but it still does'nt work!

        Anyways am planning to open it up myself tomorrow if am free and check! TImepass you see

        • Sat-sunday had fantastic ride to kaas plateau weekend was well spend riding 600kias here are some pics .




          well Bike gave some surprise
          1> while taking corner i found that rear break in not working at all... but thanks to sharp front break i managed to control bike only on front but was nice experience controlling bike on corner using front and downshift hehehe well but soon after that corner rear break was working ok and when me and nox started return journey rear break was working too good

          2> i got 47kmpl but most of the time i was riding above 7K or say @ 7.2-3k (102-103kmph)

          in this ride we rode nonstop @ 100+ for more than 100kms...yet bike was fine to gulp some more kms @ same speed...hehehe
          Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

            P.s - left the bike at svc just now to replace the taillight...curcuits are burnt! Got an avg of 45kmpl and its yet to fall in reserve!

                Nope...not personally, but on orkut.....I used to look at his bike's pic almost every day drool before i got mine........his bike was also a reason why i got RTR.....i too tried to get my alloys painted orange...but could'nt find a proper painter here so i left it as it is!

                He has done a total GQ ride is'nt it? have'nt seen him on orkut for quiet sometime now.......heck i dont login much now too how many kms has his bike clocked till now?

                      That bike can manage to beat me with total loss of top end, which i am facing right now. Lets see. Will re set the valve clearance on sunday, work on ignition map switch also, which is culprit as per my interpretation. Regarding carb, will buy diapragm and spring this week and plonk it in.

                        Hello,
                        I have been reading posts regularly, especially of Renny and Nox (Thanks for your great support ).
                        I am facing serious problems with my RTR-FI (yellow, March2009 purchase).
                        1)Bike has crossed 14k kms and lacks pickup(The RTR effect!!).
                        2)Bike shuts down frequently at any time of day when its left idle for 3-4 hrs, but after 7-8 kms run it behaves normal.
                        3)Phat phat sound (Backfire) from silencer, but now its very rare after Injector and ECU changed twice by SVC(under warranty ).
                        4)Too much vibes than before.
                        5)Fuel filter and spark plug still not changed(If i'm not wrong, Renny recommended to change the fuel filter after 5-6k kms and according to NOX, spark plug after 10k.. ). SVC guys say that both are to be changed only when bike stops.
                        6)Too much tappet noise. If you people can recommend settings, then i can get it done from a local mech(a friend of mine).
                        7)Too much carbon deposit in the silencer. Is it ok for a FI bike??
                        8)Currently using Castrol Activ oil, Petronas(recommended by Renny) and Motul not available here in my city, should i go for POWER1??

                        Please help people, because even puny P150 beats me in a drag..

                          Get the CO setting done for ECU. tappet clearance are 0.06 intake and 0.09 exhaust (use guages and dont go by judgement).

                          Air filter is clean? When you replaced the spark plug and fuel filter last time?
                          Power1 works great, but ensure you get genuine oil.
                          There's lot to it other than saddle....

                            Whats the current top end you're getting?
                            And you screwed the diaphram and spring?????
                            How about adding the 180's mains this time and checking what the diff it's making.

                            There could be many reasons behind lack of pickup,viz, chocked air filter, chocked fuel injector, chocked fuel filter,carbon deposit on the main fuse, and in VERY rare case, "out" timing, huge carbon deposit at the plug ETC.

                            Bike stalling down,specially in FI's case,was normal with the old injector unit, but with the new injector (SILVER ONE) this was ironed out.

                            Fold down all your fingers except the middle one for the SC guy.
                            replace the spark plug every 5000-10000kms, it costs just a lousy 100 bucks.
                            and get that filter changed.

                            How you got to know about the amount of carbon deposit in the can?

                              there is no reliable way to guage the carbon deposit inside the silencer without cutting it into half!!!

                              matbe the svc guy told you this.. they tend to make pointless answers to misguide and shut up the customers..

                              dont worry, do one thing, if the svc guy agin says that carbon in silencer is the problem, challenge him that if there is carbon deposit inside the silencer, you will pay for a new exhaust and if there is no deposit then the svc guy will have to replace it. i.e make him liable for his statement and then see how he contradicts his own statements..

                              even if he is right, you would have needed to get the choked up exhaust eitherways.. but dont worry, unless your fi system is competely screwed up, this will never happen..

                                Yesss! i messed up with spring. And diaphagm has become larger than stock.

                                Top speed i am getting is 100 in 4th gear and 85 in 5th. I think its Ignition remap switch, which is culprit.
                                There's lot to it other than saddle....
