    • Group of RTR's did a ride to kuntala falls on sunday. I went along too......it was organised by arun from kiran tvs. Not a official ride from tvs.....some customer had been bugging him to organise a ride...so we both planned it to kuntala! Total of 13 RTR's out of which 2 returned half way!

          • Hey guys, was out riding when the bike just stopped running. Checked fuel and spark plug, both are good. But the bike's not starting. Any ideas what the problem could be??

yes i do have a NO . well exactly he's not engg from tvs but he's head(not owner ) of 2-3SVC's in mumbai and has decent knowledge. What kinda tuning they do on Efi..? i mean in past 42k kms i hardly remember that my mech connected my bike to comp as it was never needed...and just to tune it thru Comp if they ask u to wait for 2-3 days its not good

ok even I have the no of service engineer ( I think ) so will call but don't know whether he will talk to me or not and yes I think air fuel ratio was not proper in bike as misfiring used to happed even riding at around 50-60kmph and after decreasing the for signal stop "boom" misfiring used to happen from exhausts but after tuning also bike is not alright even when the bike is cold it fails to start applying a single kick but previously it used to start even if i apply the self start and the bike is not ridden for 10-15 days and when I say this to the mech he gets confuse and ask to keep the bike as he needs to check last when i went to svc he without connecting the bike with the computer he adjusted some screw, its not the RPM screw but very close to that will post the pic and said me that the amt of air was more as compare to fuel so he has increased the flow of fuel and he says no need to connect it to the computer and still the bike fails to starts when it is cold

No need to open full engine, only the head assy and linear no need to seperate the crank case or else,Btw their is no harm to dismantle the head after done 18-20000kms its must after done all jobs perfect be to right fitting of the engine thats all

so the max work is to change the valves if it is fried but actually I am a bit scared as in one svc the guys are not good even they don't how to tune the FI bikes though they have the FI tuner and in other they know the work but due to high pressure first they keep the bike more than 2-3 days and secondly do unsatisfactory job so repeatedly have to go there , can we get this job done outside if the mech is good enough or it is better to get the job done from TVS svc

No Never faced any issues like that.
I think RTR's RVM's are one of the classiest and best RVM in all of the Indian Bikes!

                      • Near miss accident-RTR handling saved me.

This incident occurred just an hour before while I was on ride to my office at vikhroli.

I started from Neral at 6:50. Road were empty so i was riding at 110-115 kmph on NH4. Just next to left handed curve with incline, a dumper was doing 5 kmph in fast lane. Other trailer, was overtaking this dumper from left side at 7kmph or so.
As I entered the curve, I spotted the dumper and trailer while doing 108kmph. I was around 30mtrs behind the dumper. I squeezed front brake, used rear brake to get into counter steer, and leaned inside. Rear wheel skidded outside and I was on inner side, leaned at 40 degrees with verticle, ready to leave the bike and save myself. But thanks to that 270mm petal disc and perfect balance of the bike. I did 108 to 5 kmph in merely 1 sec. and was saved. All this happened sub cautiously.

I felt great to have RTR and not pathetic handler like pulsar or lazy bike like Unicorn or Hunk.
Instead of RTR if I was on Pulsar or Unicorn, I would have been in photo with sandal wood frame.

Let Bajaj keep on screaming. It really do not help pulsar to become fastest Indian in true sense.

This incident proved if RTR does 120kmph, its capable of handling that speed.

                          Do it as following:
                          1. Loosen the lock nut
                          2. Pull those RVMs towards you
                          3. Re-tighten the bolts.

Note: It needs 14mm fix spanner. It's there in tool kit.

                              • Vee Rubber tyres in Pune

I want to buy new set of tyres for my Apache RTR 160. Specifications are as follows:

                                Tyre size(front) :90/90 x 17"

                                Tyre size(front) : 100/80 x 18"

I am planning to install Vee Rubber tyres or Michelin tyres? Which one is good for Apache during wet conditions and on sand/gravel?

Also please tell a shop where Vee Rubber tyres are available in PUNE.
