    44 to 37 ? now dont say that initial pick up reduced a bit only


    one problem here also, i heard a little "phat phat" sound from the silencer today....what can it be ???

      Yes a bit only.... 0-60 in 6.4 seconds.... originally it used to do that in 5 secs .... but i did notice that to reach top speed in 5th, it takes some time... the bike now cruises around 70-80 kmph at 5000 rpm... very smooth.....

          man u should have a smooth ride in highway and get a good fuel eff in highways too! but this seems to be a overkill.......am damn sure u'll change the sprocket in couple of days

          The fuel leak in FI seems to be a common issue........there are quiet a lot of bike with same kind of issue here in hyd!

          There is 1 case where the poor guy lost all the petrol in his tank(abt16ltrs) within 160kms. Guys here dont have the stock of that O-ring seal. They are trying to manage it with other things for now but nothing is working....and the bike has done only 200kms till now

          Hope TVS looks into this very soon!

            sure you will have a smooth drive because of low rpm, i was thinking about 43(as joel suggested)............tell about your expirence more, then i will think again

              37 is too low... This is increase the engine back pressure and life of your bore will decrease exponentially. Once I have tried similar conversation on My RX by dropping tooths by 5. Man I lost my bore in one trip.

              Was it a retro fit?

                Thats exactly similar to my case. I too faced this problem in around 150 kms or so. Today, I and Sai went to the TVS office at Mandaveli and met Mr. Velmurugan personally. A good guy who is ready to help us out. Sai's bike is still not right. After riding my bike, I tried to ride his bike and felt it wierd. It felt as if it was running terribly lean. Velmurugan tried it out but the engine had cooled and he cud not spot it during his test ride. No issues in mine. We discussed a lot of things. He was actually surprised that we know about most common problems in the RTR and even the most uncommmonest of problems.

                BTW I checked for the sprocket. The Apache 43T is available, but only as a kit from ROLON or TVS original. TVS Original costs 900 bucks at the showroom while the ROLON costs 750 bucks. Am still searchjing. I want to change it before 1K kms to avoid all this mis-alignment and stuff. Beyond that the chain and sprocket might set. Let me see what can be done!

                    Hey guys I booked a RTR Refresh black and will be getting it on Thursday... I wanted to know if I can change my stock tyres to tubeless tyres... I've heard lot of praise about the R15s front so might try that.I wanted to know if tubeless tyres will fit on the stock rim with no problems at all. Also I wanted suggestions for the rear tyre, 18" tubeless preferably, something which is 110 or 120...

                    One more thing I noticed was the rear footpegs of the earlier RTR (atleast on the brochures and all) are metal ones whereas the new rtr has regular rubber ones...

                    One last question, Does the Refresh also have the Lap timer ?

                      SPROCKET MATH
                      There are only two basic equations for sprocket math: calculating the sprocket drive ratio and calculating the percentage change in sprocket ratios.

                      47 / 15 = 3.13333

                      Example 2:
                      You buy a 50 tooth rear sprocket and a 15 tooth front sprocket for the above bike.
                      50 / 15 = 3.33333
                      So 3.33333 is the new sprocket ratio.


                      Calculating the percentage change in sprocket ratios:

                      ((new ratio / old Ratio) - 1) * 100 = change as a percentage.
                      NOTE: Positive percentages indicate higher gearing ratios, negative numbers mean lower gearing ratios

                      Example (using the numbers from the first set of equations):
                      Motorcycle had a 3.1333 sprocket ratio,
                      cycle will now have a 3.3333 sprocket ratio

                      ((3.3333 / 3.1333) - 1) * 100) =

                          well dude .. the alloy foot pegs are under the rubber thing .. remove the rubber by unscrewing the nuts and vola !!!!!

                            From 44 to 37 is something that I'll think twice to gear on my 21-22bhp 200cc Fiero as well. Let alone a stock RTR160. It will kill all your performance gains. Like I said earlier, going 1 or 2T max is the best bet.
                            On my modified RTR which pumps nearly 3.5bhp more, I was running a 41T and I felt it was a little taller. Switched to a custom made 42T and it was just fine. So just figure out what you need then.

                              Well, the stock sprocket is back in its place.... and it made me fall in love with the bike all over again !!!!!!!!
                              The 37T did give more speed in each gear, but the grunt of the engine which I fell in love with in the first place was gone..... the bike behaved more like a city bike rather than a racer that it is meant to be .... I had started feeling as though I was riding a unicorn or something..... and I hate the kind of ride those bikes have.... the Apache's ride is a league apart...... ripping the bike is now more fun again..... and the awesome power that makes you feel as though the bike will just slip out from between your legs when you rip it, is back..... I think I love the Apache the way it is: Stock.

                                i want to convert my 2 small parking light in front from Alternator current to direct Battery current . It should be like that when i ON the bike and engine aint running but the parking light switch is on they should light up . is it a easy job ??? will the TVS service people do it?? how much will it cost ?? what is a rectifier thats needed to be put to convert ac to dc
