if the bike is switching off only when u cold start it and dont give throttle, then it could jus be a low idling setting. it is easily corrected at the svc.

Alrite vil do tat.. but initial RPMs after engine gets heated up is fine rite.. its around 1400RPM. so thats normal. i dunno. may during the first start it has to be started in neutral for 2 mins... may b engine has to get heated up.

lately it has been raining continously and heavily in bangy. so whenever byke is run over pool of water .. then after going some distance it switches off the same way it does in the morning. and sometimes while raising the throttle it makes noise as if theres no petrol. this started only after first service. ne idea y this is happening.

No yaar, Am prety sure its the battery cos the ECU keeps on doing the self-check and pump keeps continuously priming. Kick twice and the bike starts up. Using the horn sends the tacho needle running up and down and the horn sound starts breaking up. I will check the fuse today anyways. I also connected the pilots and it worked. Running for 5 mins charges the battery.

@Satish: This is not a question of battery charging outside. The more important question is why? Am sure its not HID cos I have earlier run it for close to 2 hrs continuous and nothing happened. Also my brother never used the H/L in the past week. Running was limited to the mornings only.

@joyjeetdan: Thats a valuable piece of info. thanks. If something happens then my brother will kill me.

I also got the original socket used for mounting the bulb earlier. If the cable colour on the socket and the bike match then am saved. Can someone confirm that?

P.S: I just got a pair of R15 pilot lamp sockets from the YAMAHA SC. Went alongwith a friend for booking a new FZ-S. They were happy and gave it to me FOC. Now to get LEDs like on the R15.

oh.. thats good news. i mean the engine starting without the battery part. but how does the fuel pump work without the battery? when you kick, where is the pump getting the power from?

i have never felt any additional noise from the engine when raising the throttle. do u feel a lack of power or choking of the engine?

the FI can be started using the kick without battery no probs...

How cum the battery is dead so quick? coz of HID's?

if ur sure the battery is dead then just get it recharged instead of running to the SVC!
HID direct from the battery caused all this APAR!!!!!!!!

i too think first check the battery by recharging it.....

                    • Install the R15 front foot pegs in my RTR today, no problem in fixing. Need to scarb the inner part of the pegs a bit, looks good. Cost only Rs.127/- a pair. Didnt purchased the balancers though, old RTR balancers are OK with it.

But wont the metal footpeg transfer more vibes than the rubbered ones?

                          • Sorry to break the chain..

Im pissed with washing the bike everyday.. coz its raining almost everyday.. a lot of mud gets settled all around the rear disc.. (any way to reduce this ?)

As there is no chain guard, and with all the muddy water splashing into the chain.. doesnt it get dirty ? how to clean it ?
Lets put a smile on your face

                            • ^ If u dont care about the looks, u can fit the earlier RTR's chain cover.

About the cleaning, u can use a degreaser like kerosene and clean off the dirt and then use a chain spary from MOTUL or OKS as the lube.

                              • Ok good news time. Fixed up the headlight on my own. Connections were no issue. Just taped them up. The 35/35W was properly running. Also installed the R15's sockets for the pilots. No LEDs yet. Will get them over the weekend and try. Got greedy and fixed the 55/60.... That was also perfectly working. Removed the rear number-plate bulb and the pilots to compensate. Works fine, beam spread is all great. Am satisfied.

But I still could not find where the blue socket connects to. Could not find any loose wires. Have to ask the svc centre only. Lets see. The horn is also working now. Will have to get the battery charged morrow or so. Next job: sprocketting. Bike starts and idles and runs.

@Kauria: Good job man. Looks cool.
