Thats ok! It would be useful in case your battery gives way. You know it can sometime or the other! We R15/P220/P200/Avenger/other only selfstart bike owners don't have that luxury!Originally posted by rennycornelius View Postfirst it looks bad.....
and second it scraps the brake lever too bad,tht the colour of the kick lever starts to go off.......
('first' was the reason i removed it though
)
But does it touch the brake pedal when you kick start it? I don't think Apache has the CBZ/CBZ-Xtreme kind of problem where in you need to close the footrest before kickstarting etc.!
That aside, the manual recommends kick-starting in cold conditions. You are putting load on the self starter motor/battery which cannot be made out in the initial few months. I would say better having the kickstarter, rather than missing it sometime!
@RedApple: My friend bought the Refresh. I heard the older RTR exhaust yesterday in my office parking&you are right-the Refresh has a distinct growl to it!Quench my thirst with gasoline!

i havent driven the original RTR but i think there is some slight tweaking that was done in the Refresh. I remember Joel also mentioning that the exhaust added some power as well...and that beautiful soundOriginally posted by rennycornelius View Postif "JOEL" mentioned it.....

. The best thing to hear the difference is to park the bike and let it idle..u can hear that "pop pop pop" very nicely

my battery said me bye once as it was completely dead in the morn (got it replaced under warranty)...i was at my frnds place so i "dhakka" started it and whoa!!!!!!! my prob got solved......(though it's not advsable to run this bike without battery as the fuel pump is a dc thing, in FIERO it was not recommended too)....Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostThats ok! but as long as my bike starts at first self and after a proper warm up i dont think thr's a load on the self as such which you're telling.......The Magician"

hello mates!!
really a good piece of discussions going on this thread!!
guys i owned an rtr fi in july 2008. and i want to knw frm u all tht how much distance u hav covered on ur bike in a single day.
am asking this bcz i recently went for an 300km ride to musoorie(one side) in uttrakhand although bike responded very well i.e mileage-48kmpl, and no missing problem during engine heat up.
am running with castrol power 1.
but after a decent 290km tappet noise increases upto 30% more of normal condition?? what may b the exact reason!

never! the reason why the kick lever is so shaped was to avoid touching the brake lever. wonder how you manage to scrape it. In fact with this kick lever, TVS has managed to teach a thing or two to HH w.r.t practicality and engineering.Originally posted by rennycornelius View Postand second it scraps the brake lever too bad,tht the colour of the kick lever starts to go off.......

Yea it doesn't scrape anything, many of my friends while looking at it check to see if it does but no.It's designed quite well... Only thing is it feels a lil different to kick it because it bends towards the right...

It doesnt scrap the footrest unless the position of the brake lever is changed.Originally posted by rennycornelius View Postfirst it looks bad.....

As for the exhaust it is different atleat from outside the end is different.Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

I don't think RTR FI suits you, especially if you're into touring or long distance riding. Take a test ride... make a request and get a long ride - at least a kilometer or two.Originally posted by deepthekool View Postguys i m 5"10' in height....n got a few pounds extra.........

I'm not sure about which to pick between the FZ16 and P200... P200 has got loads of power and gives decent mileage, but FZ16 looks awesome and is easier to handle in the city. Decide which one to go for according to your requirements
BTW guys, I still didn't get any response about this:
(Thread: First Impression:TVS Apache RTR FI 160)Originally posted by MG_Biker1806Data pertaining to the last three zero to sixty timings and the last three top speeds are logged and displayed on the speedometer.
Does it really log three of those? How do I access all three? I see only one reading of each on my bike...
