    Hi mate,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I am planning to change my bike in a years time and would be going for a premium bike.

The bike is currently manageable and if theres any issue inbetween let me atleast leave them a feedback.

    • Hi guys..i own the RTR160 (2008) yellow and still have it good as new (5 yrs and running)..my first bike and it hasn't given me trouble so far..the engine, gearbox, suspension, all are fine..done 30k kms so far..i vary the engine output delivery often so that my bike doesn't set to a particular performance level..i rip it (abt 120+ kmph)..i over rev mostly 8k-9k rpm in every gear but a very bad mileage (35kmpl approx) !!.. RTR jus took the load i put in !!! neva think R15 could do it !! i've done 4 long trips (500kms each)..i've replaced chains twice, disc brakes once, tires once, brake shoes trice and thats it !! i have fitted the Xenon headlights (rs 3800/-) and removed the rear mudguard !! i always enjoy the top speeds and handling !! i give it a bath once a weak and use a 3M polish !! am i lucky or are you guys not maintaining yours good enough ?? i service my bike on time !! 29 services so far !! i am planning to fit a NOS kit soon and get an R15 too !! jus want to see what the RTR can do wen pushed to limits !!

Please don't do that because such modification(NOS, rev over 8k, driving at top speed) can damage your engine. If you want to keep your bike as it is then i will recommend you not to do above particular things.

        • Time for a Tyre change on my RTR FI. It has run 28k on stock TVS Tyre and the rear has gone almost bald.

Went through quite a few threads and shortlisted Zapper Q and Michelin Sirac Street for the rear Tyre replacement.

Any suggestions, on which one would be better for a planted grip?

You remind me of that Golden egg laying Goose story. But do this once you get R15 as you will have something to ride to collect spares for RTR when its broken

I replace my tyres 3 months back. Got Zapper Q for rear and Zapper FS for the front. They are much, Much, MUCH better than the stock ones!!! I would recommend these. I had also completed 28K when I got them replaced.

                  • TVS Apache series RTR 160

                    Hi guys,

I currently own the TVS Apache series RTR 160 (2012). I have the following queries:
                    1. The rear tyre size is 110/80 R17. But I'm planning to upgrade it to 120/80 R17. How much difference in mileage will I've to suffer???(currently I get around 45-50 kmpl)
                    2. What is the most effective way of lubricating the chain & sprocket??? I've heard dis 1 method wherein you mix some amount of diesel n chain oil which would assist in cleansing and lubricating the chain. Kindly elaborate on dis method and please advice me on the Chain oil that should be used.
                    3. The front discs make a mild screeching sound when engaged. What should I be checking, the brake pads or disc assembly???

Thanks a lot for your help
                    Tijoe

MRF Vyde? Just checked their site and could not find a 100/90 option. Have you installed this tyre on your bike?

                      And congrats on hitting 70k.

                        • Hello,
This might seem a bit too obvious question (or even stupid) but need some information.. When they say the fuel capacity is 16 litres, is it including the reserve 2.5 or excluding it.. I have heard different answers from different places and need some authentic answers..

                          Thanks..

Execpt the Chambers, everything related to the engine has been changed atleast once.

The current bore kit is atleast 30k kms old. No issues so far. Bike still loves to hit the 12k mark and still brings smile to me
