It vibrates from th 6K to 7K rpm mark and not like hell, just like any other bike. Below that and above that, no problems. But I seriously feel that the vibes are more to do with the ultra short gearing. I have a few tricks up my sleeve. Lets see how they work out. More than the vibes what bothers more is the tappet noise.(Talking strictly about the Fi)Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. Liberty is when the sheep has a gun.

My RTR has some problems:
1) There is a hollow sound when i shift to 4th gear (dont tell me that I am shifting too soon)
The SVC says that the 4 gear has broken and so I need to change the shafts and the entire gear assembly.
What this means is a lighter wallet by about 4K for the parts and 1.5k Fitting charges...
2) The rear panels have cracked near bolts which hooks the Shock Absorbers...
I was under the impression that one panel had cracked due to some sicko banging into my bike at the parking lot (as 'confirmed' by the watchman). However on closure inspection I have seen this to be the case with both the rear panels...
Whats this, a design flaw or something? or a freak pothole incident?
What this means is a lighter wallet by about 1.3K for the parts
I am very upset with both these issues... any other members have you seen these two issues. Also all RTR owners, it might be a good idea to check below the seat and check for cracks and all!
PS: I am tired of waiting for a bigger bike, so now I have gone ahead and booked a R15 as well....Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

@sam92: Sprocketting is the only solution mate! Go back a few pages, I and Joel have discussed it and Joel has suggested a sprocket too!Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. Liberty is when the sheep has a gun.

This ownership thread is really active as compared to others, but recently I am reading more -ves than +ves about RTR (more accurately RTR FI).
So I guess I need to rethink about my plan to buy FI for myself.Last edited by chauhan_saurabh; 02-01-2009, 08:47 PM.

Stock is 44. You dont need Zma or p200 sprokets. TVS makes sprokets for every size that u need. Its just that it comes on various models and all are retro fits.
You need a 43 or a 42 at the rear. If you still want something taller, go for a 41T.
43 - comes on the early 2006 model Apache 150(best bet, but hard to source).
42 - Comes on the Supra SS. You can get lucky at some TVS dealerships. (U generally wont find this)
41 - Comes on the TVS Max 100R/Samurai
40 - Comes on TVS Fiero F2
39 - Comes on Suzuki Fiero/Shaolin.
Pick anything that you want!so have you tried 43T ? ..Originally posted by Aparajith View Post@Joel: Thanks for all the online and phone gyaan Sir!!! will do as u said and post up my experiences here
if it suits then even ill go for it ..
btw .. do we need to remove the chain guard for it ?

If the gear has broken by itself then it should be covered under warrenty. and by no ways u should pay for it.......even if this does'nt come under warrenty then how could it give way so early?
and AFAIK no one has ever complained abt gear or rear panel breaking away at TVS SVC here in hyd(atleast at kiran commercials). This might be one off case(like my bike
)
And looking at the spare quotes given to u........i think they are over charging........rear panels costs only 400-450 rs each side.....! and for entire engine work the fitting charges are 800-1000rs only. may be other RTR owners can clear this.
Well that is why we have a ownership thread for..........everyone talks abt its +ve only.......but only the owners know the actual problems in the bike they face........besides wat use is a ownership thread if we talk of only the +ve's?Originally posted by chauhan_saurabh View PostThis ownership thread is really active as compared to others, but recently I am reading more -ves than +ves about RTR (more accurately RTR FI).

abt ur FI plans.......i suggest you to buy the bike only after testriding it! U wont regret buying a RTR-FI

I have no clue on how it happened...
Infact the rear panel issue was also a weird one for me.... it should be some freak pothole thingy!
For the panels I was quoted 650 each! Guys any idea...!Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more
