      many of the guys here complain about tvs service being bad.
      so will servicing in the castrol bike zone is good idea?(after the free service ofcourse)
      is there a bike zone in mumbai?

        tough luck. No Castrol Bike Zones in Mumbai. But speak to other people in Mumbai.. you should have a better place there.

            Get it dented&touched up. I have got all my bikes&cars touched up effectively&many other friends vehicles too. It doesn't even need much of a fancy setup unlike for cars. Just ensure they they match the shade correctly (they have computer colors). Don't worry about patch work-ask them to spray the final clear coat (they'll understand what it is) to get the correct smoothness&shine. We have got a red R15 side panels&grab rails touched up for Rs.350. It looks like factory finish. Just be there to oversee the work done though!

              but with oil in the free service, the reimbursement from the company is a fixed amount for the service itself. on the oil they get a huge profit direct from the customer.

              just gave my bike a few hours ago to ashwini thane for the 4th service. i told him not to change the oil coz i wanted to change it myself for a synth. they refused saying the have to change the oil. and i dont have enough faith in them to give the bottle and trust they'll actually use it in my bike. guess i'll just have to bear the double cost of the company oil and the synth after i get the bike back.
              Well, I see loads of empty TVS Tru 4T cans littered over the place... so I guess they do fill up from sealed bottles from there itself. As for buying oil bottles to take home... how many people do you think do something like that. Its different here... we are bike/auto enthusiasts... but by far most auto users don't do something like that.

              Now which place does good work like that? My bikes need touching up at a few places. I enquired at a painter at Nana Peth (in Pune) about touching up. He said touching up invariably means it will look like a patch job. Does any one know of a really good place in Pune?

                aspect ratio

                hey guys, looks like my question is gonna take this discussion off track... but i guess i have to ask this.!!
                What would happen if i change my stock rear tyre 100/80 18 to 100/90 18 on my rtr?
                will the final drive or gear ratios change? what will happen to the top speed? and pickup?
                as far as i know the with a bigger diameter the topspeed would increase and a shorter tyre would give better acceleration. rite?

                would 10 mm make any difference?

                i had zeroed it down to zapper Q 100/90 untill i read a guy on orkut sayin 110/90 screwd his pickup and topspeed. kept me wondering.

                Wat do u say?

                      Thanks for advices guys!!!! i got it done today here in bangalore..i almost checked in 10 mechanic shops & 5 paint shops from today (26 april)morning. finally got one guy & he has done it in 30 minutes, exactly like factory finish. He charged 150 bucks for everything, for the scratches in tank & scoop also some more in head light mask (which i didn notice when bike fell down)

                      The guy stay in jayanagar. Ill definitely suggest this guy & now im cool cox any more scratches on my babe can be thrown out easily

                            today i parked my bike near metro station and guess when i returned back rtr logo n ride side scoop sticker is missing,!
                            a moron deattach the "fi rtr 160" logo frm my bike's handle bar and also removed the strip line sticker frm right scoop,
                            want u ask u guys frm where i can buy the rtr 160 logo for handle bar and how much it cost?
                            should i approach to tvs dealer or to a svc guys??
