    • hehe...

The way the bike looks for just rs 50/- is shocking.. i was thinking of getting it done after the weekend wash or bi-monthly or something like that..

50 is a bargain as per me

its was in running condition before... only that now its in sprinting condition

@julianpaul didnt get what youre referring to when you said 'still saving money' .. as in saving money by not getting it serviced at bharath tvs ?

i meant you got a good service done at zen since they're better than bharath, but got the polishing at bharath because i assumed they're better/cheaper than zen since u didn't do that at zen itself.

shit, now i've confused myself with that last sentence/paragraph ... anyways, you get the idea, you got a good service and a good polish ...

edit: p.s. i've never polished a bike after my rd. since you seem to know about it i'll ask you, my fi is a matte gray. what that means is that tvs just didnt put a glossy lacquer clear-coat on it. the stickers are left pretty unprotected unlike in a laquered bike where they're under a layer of clear-coat. as in it would be pretty easy to peel off a sticker from a matt grey bike with a fingernail as compared to to other bikes. what i wanna know is will a polish further degrade the sticker-panel bond ?

          thank you

I dont remember the model. its about 18 months back, when i was using it. the bike was of my friend, and now in kolhapur. i will try to get the rating, and post it. till then, you can approach dunlop dealer and check out 110/80-18 or 110/90-18 tyre
There's lot to it other than saddle....

lol.. i had got a teflon coat on the bike when i bought it.. when you buy the bike they ask if they should get it.. that thing comes with two free polishes.. after 6 and 12 months of purchase.. so had gone to bharath tvs to get that done .. i liked the guys work.. who did such an amazing work for free.. just asked him casually how much it would cost otherwise.. he said 50/- .. just paid him that and went..

If Zen TVS could do the same.. i would have gotten it done there itself.. I saw a couple of rally/race bikes.. one was a V-Twin (2 fiero engines) that rajesh worked on apparently and another was a white one which was dissambled.. but had Zen Racing stickered on it..

I do not know much about wat happens to the paint etc.. even my bike is a grey fi.. The polish is extremely thin and i doubt if it will have some effect on the bikes paint etc..

awright man, i'll go check out some places where they do polish. i thought a bit of wax might be good for the rains. i was never convinced about the teflon thing though, the way they used to apply it with the rotary buffer. guess it boils down to the person's technique.

              • Got my second service done today at Bharath TVS, Bangalore. It was done pretty well, nothing to brag about. But yeah, the wax polishing (NOT teflon coating. Teflon coating costs Rs. 350) for Rs. 50 was VERY good. My bike was all dirty due to rains and stuff, but after the service and polishing, it looks and performs like a brand new one :d

But yeah, they didn't allow me to get any other engine oil other than TVS Tru4 . Also, I forced them (yeah, they kept saying its not necessary, so had to force them) to do a CO check since my bike misfires quite often above 60kmph. CO level was found to be around 2.6 (whatever unit)... The mechanic showed it to the service supervisor who then got it set to around 1.35. How much should it be exactly? Was I running rich? And if you're running rich, do you get less mileage?

                • hey guys .. long time since i post something in this thread .. well i just helped my friend furriousphix put up HP airfilter on his RX ..well i feel the sound has become like a hometheater BASS reflex system but very less perfo has increased .we cant even make out ,,
but just for sound and since i have some money left with me
ill go for HP airfilter tomorrow and post the pics ..
i just opened my bike and found the way to install the filter without touching the breather pipes
will click pics and post it ..
the advantage with this will be ..whenever i want to change back i just need to pull it out and plug the main pipe back in

it'll do good and you wont be havin tht tubewell's water calcium marks also,it'll prevent all that..

cuz the kinda teflon coatin these guys do....
it's better to keep the bike without tht coatin...

Gawd... don't get fooled by that Tefflon swindle!! It hardly takes time to polish the bike yourself, with much better products like Turtle Wax. Don't use Formula 1 carnuba wax on a new bike. You can try F1's liquid polymer based stuff though. Among made in India stuff, 3M is quite decent. I don't think your stickers will be harmed... mebbe just avoid applying the stuff directly on them or their edges.

Company stickers are pre clear coated, they don't come off that easily!

there is nothing i hate in the rtr apart from the vibes and the tappet noise. please give us a full report soon. also detail of the airfilter. you have to do more than 'HP'.

I used to use turtle wax on my rd and was very impressed with the results. i was also never convinced by the teflon at the svcs hence never tried that. time to turtle my rtr !

never tried f1 carnuba, also curious as to why not to use it on a new bike.

but not in the matte grey man. there is no clear coat, hence the matte. the stickers are exposed and can easily be removed with a fingernail. what i was worried about was the wax getting under the edge of a sticker. on little bit and the whole thing will eventually peel off.

p.s. LOL at your siggy. got paan ?! (like the got milk? ads. nm)
