    • headlamp changing help - Osram nightbreaker

My headlamps highbeam got fused [it happily withstood for 18k kms :-)] and now i'm planning to some better headlamp. My mind has struck in Osram nightbreaker. Please suggest me the pros/cons of that if anybody is using it. I know a lot of you might 've used it. Also a couple of LEDs in tail lamp are also gone. I'm afraid if i'm not fixing them I'll end up loosing more LEDs since all are from a single connection. So if I'm losing a couple it will make the rest to draw more power and ultimately get them burned up. Any suggestions

      Thanks,
      /joe

      • Has any one else had a problem with the pilot lamps going off every often?
Every 2-3 months one of my pilot lamps goes kaput. I think this may be triggered by riding over bad roads, but cant be sure.

Any guess about whats going on?

In lay man's language, it connects starter to crank when starter is driven, and disconnects both when crank starts i.e. crank runs faster than starter. keeping rpm in rated range won't result in damage of "one way clutch", when starter is used by fault with engine running.

Stock pilot lamp's are osram make. ts pretty difficult to find them again. SVC ppl put in normal bulbs which fuse's very easily. I had this problem. Search for osram's but in vain. Finally i changed the holder's and put in cbzx pilot lamp. Ever since i have changed only 1 set and its been more than a year now!

                  • I think you shold stick with the stock spec tyre, The PSD is very good tyre buts heavy as well(I have used iit on my ZMA) & on RTR would bring the Performance down noticeably.

M45 is supposed to be light but I am not sure how it will perform on the RTR.

                    1)MRF Zapper Q-100/90-18 TT
Good VFM..good grip..decent looks..easily available at all MRF outlets.

                    2)Michelin M45- 4.00x18 TT (translates to 101.6/101.6-18)
very good grip, good looks, a little pricey(Rs1800 in michelin dealerships) and much costlier outside.Don't know how much this tyre will affect handling because of the 101.6mm sidewall height(the stock tyre is only 80mm).am already using a MRF meteor 110/90-18 and the 99mm sidewall height did affect my handling especially in heavy traffic.

                    3)Pirelli Sports Demon-110/90-18 TL
soft compound, excellent grip and looks, bad wet traction, wears off very fast, very costly in the grey market(Rs.2400 quoted).

I want guys who are using these tyres on their Apache RTR's to give their first hand opinions..Thanks in advance!!....

                    • But is there any other tyre available in 100-80/18 construction???

Even 100-90/18 has noticeable effects on handling.
                      Yes....
