    anyone experiencing the same?

one thing more that it's been almost a year and the handle bar didn't showed the sign that's it's loose (it's strange to me cuz, it never happened in my FIERO or KB100)
Cone set is the culprit, must be replaced i guess..

You checked the handle while riding only or kept on center stand and checked it , if its the former then consider point 2 also .

      1. Cone set problem
      2. Some problem in the rear , wheel alignment not proper , tyre problem etc.

Sometimes nuts get loose , grease accumulates dirt etc ( so check for that also ) .

      about the bold part ,
you were lucky that time or quality of parts in the steering were much more superior in those bikes . Both bikes you have mentioned are known for low maintenance and being pretty robust .

One thing is that to check out cone problems or for replacing you have to dismantle your steering to some extent. I am not sure for checking you need to remove or not cause have seen most mechs dont do so but some do . So your settings may not be the same again . Atleast from my experience I have found out that mechanics specially roadside or even garage mechanics are not able to set it perfect or same as before .
Heck not even near it . So try and figure out if there is some standard for the setting so that you can set it to the same as before .

      PS:
Just trying to reason out things as usual .. check out with others too

      enjoy

i checked it the both ways...
it's in the handle that too in the left side, much before the dead lock.

i too think that the cone is the culprit, now will i get it changed under warranty???

        SATISH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          You called?

i guess cone is covered in warrenty if your bike has done abt 10k kms. (am not sure)

I dont think cone set would go kaput so soon. I have'nt changed my bike cone set till now. But have changed all the balls 2 times now. My rtr has done close to 41k kms till now.

I guess one of the balls might have breaked else one ball might be above the other one. This might be one possibility!

(am talking abt metal balls in/around cone set)

          • Pathetic day at ashwa TVS bangalore...

            Hi,
My intention to post this message is to bring to notice all x-bhp bike lovers an fair attention to situation i faced.

To give brief discription about the problem..
From 2nd service i have been facing the meter blank out on my APACHE RTR Fi byke. Last saturday i took the bike for 4th service. Till now the problem exist. Apart from this i had given complaints of following things.

            1. Sound from doom assembly when i hit 40kms per hour.
            2. Back disc is not at all applying brakes. I have to use front brakes for the bike to stop.
            3. Meter getting blanked out when bike is travelling. fuel indicator never showing correct reading. even if i fill pertol for 100 rs it willl show full tank.
            4. gears getting sturck. i need to slow down the bike and change the gears.

got a message from showroom to collect my bike at 4.00 PM. Promptly arrived at showroom and cleared the bill. Took the bike to check the problem. Meanwhile mechanic came and explained what exactly was done. When i narrated my problem to him and asked what he has done he was clueless. that proves he has just washed the bike. i even doubt if they changed the engine oil. Neways i took the bike and went and to my horror nothin has been done. doom noise is very irritating. took a u turn and asked him to check. He instead of taking it to service station came with a screw driver and loose the screw and tight the screw. thats it. Now when i started the bike again the sound is still there but the mechanic says the sound is gone.

I left the place disappointed. Now i noticed after reaching my home that the paint is peeling off from the front mud guard. To my horror there are so many scratches which i never noticed. i clean my bike every alternate day. So it was clear that service center guys have done something. so today i took the bike back to service station. Same person was contacted. he started saying on my face that they have taken care all the problem.

I said then how come the problem is still there. for that he started saying if you dont know how to use the bike thats not our problem. From past 12 yrs im using the bike. May be the technology is new but it doesnt mean i dont know how to use the bike atleast. at this point of time i said please call your manager. i will explain the problem to him . im not interested to talk to him. For this he raised his voice and told me to get out of the service center and show my bike elsewhere. THis point of time i was loosing my temper and told him to mind his word. He not the one who has to say where i need to go and where im not. After hearing this he is like till im working in TVS its my company and this is the service what he can offer me. i said dont speak non sense and call your manager. He at this point of time completely lost his temper and came to hit me. At this point of time all the mechanics surrounded me. this guy spoke something in tamil and every one where loooking at me so furiously. this time another elderly person interevened and took that person inside and he came and asked me narrate the problem. I told them none of the problem will be told to them. Ask them to replace the mud guard in warranty. They acknowledged and the service guy went and told mechanic and he stopped working on the bike. To replace the mud gaurd they took sweet 3 hrs. and everytime he passes me for 3 hrs i was given a bad stare. no one acknowledged my problem. then finally after 3 hrs i got my bike back. while starting my bike he came near me and said do whatever u feel like. cant even complain to higher ups regarding this. and even they cant do anything.

What should we do when you face such a behavior.after buying product is it customers duty to take this idiots comments and hitting. Does customer deserve beatting for buying TVS products. im puzzled. Neither the bike is in top notch,. Niether service is proper. and 77k whatever i paid is in vain. till now im shaking because of shock. this first time in my 30 yrs of career that someone came to hit me this way for telling the greviances. what should we do in such circumstances. are we still helpless. other than not going these servie center is there anything else we can do as a customer.

            • If you wanna screw them. Just report it to the media. And also report it to the top most person in TVS possible. If you still wanna have more fun. File a case against these guys!

                    Hi All,
am new to xbhp....im facing a weird prob wit my rtr 160 bike which had done 20k+ Kms. After 10-15 mins of running(warming up), if the bike exceeds 60km/hr mark, i get a scratching sound in the engine.Once i hear it, even if i reduce it to 20km/hr the rhythmic sound (krrrr...krrrr....krrrr..krrr) persists. I had my bike checked at authorised svc centers.he said some engine adjustment should solve the prob.nw even after 2 services it still persists. Its jus 1.5 yrs old and it hurts. can some1 guide me what the prob is and the solution as well??? plzz help Gurus

People is there any way to contact TVS directly . Anyone has TVS GM email address other then "contact us" page on tvs web site. Any pointers are higly appreciated.
