Not only Carb RTRs but all petrol/diesel vehicles on the earth have fuel filter. It may not be there if you have installed aftermarket keylock to replace the fuel cock.Originally posted by Puneet1 View Postthe carb rtr does not have a fuel filter iirc .im thinking of retrofiting one , will it create any problems in carb like restricted fuel flow to carb ? nox any ideas ?There's lot to it other than saddle....

TVS Default Tru4 20w40 is mineral Its life on my bike i noticed is 600kms max. (once i start, shortest ride is 84kms with 70 kms at 90+kmph)
At 800kms, it turns in mineral water on heating (viscosoty wise
).
I would suggest not to wait till 1000kms also. Just switch to Semi synth like Power1, Sprinta, Superswift,ect...Last edited by nox2505; 12-09-2010, 05:13 PM.There's lot to it other than saddle....

Change the fuel filter at every 4000-5000kms.Originally posted by sunny9830687955 View Postyesterday changed my rtr fi's fuel filter..........man just got amazed to see that the fuel filter was old one i.e., factory fitted fuek filter
when my bike crossed 14000 kms then I came to know abt fuel filter needs to be replaced after every 9000kmThe Magician"

Below fuel cock, there is one cup. (die cast aluminium) at bottom of this, you will find the 10mm spanner bolt head, cast in cup. Just loosen it. It will come out with the cup. there is nylon filter diaphagm inside. clean the cup, and filter. Install it back. There's lot to it other than saddle....

Once you remove the cup, check at bottom of fuel cock assembly. Its white in color with offset hole for fuel intake in cup. There is a moulded boss at center to pull it out.Originally posted by Puneet1 View Postyes that cup does get filled with sediments ,didnt notice any filter there . must on the part of fuel cock thats fixed to tank . will check tomorrow , thanks
Do take care of the cup O ring while removing the filter. There's lot to it other than saddle....

Ya got the news confirmed by an insider..!!Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostGuys, guess the RTR 180 ABS is going to be launched in chennai 1st within the next 10 days. and rest of india by jan end!
My friend at TVS SVC tested the bike on the 7th of december at the HOSUR plant..!!
He told me that it was too good & way better than the existing one..!! No skiding of the tyre,no matter how hard you brake..!!
Its got an ECU with all wirings to the braking system..!! Its got a pressure regulating pump(which costs around 15k)..!!
Guess what, the bike is just around 5k costlier to the existing model(thats 85k on road)..!!
Finally, TVS is the 1st INDIAN company which provides ABS technology to the customers at the lower end..!!
