that's what i'm saying, the chassis of duo-shock bikes are designed to support mono-shocks so just changing the swingarm will do no good.

Missed this post. Nilesh if you want an easier stance you can retrofit the apache 150s set up (both handle bar and rearsets)

Will be easier to fit, more reliable and cheaper and you can always go back to the rtr mode!

      • changing t plate cost 250 + i have to change 3 nuts 2 of shock absorbers and one of cone pipe so total cost is ~350 , so i am thinking of just putting 2 holes in current t plate on lethe it will coast ~50rs

there r so many websites where u can purchase highrise clip on for super bikes and ppl r doing it just for comfort does it spoil handling of super bikes or adds comfort for long touring on highway ??

          Both

P.S. Don't have any personal experience about them, so can't comment on the extent of handling degradation.

            • Looks neat. BTW, are you sure that the handlebar is the genuine Honda part? I mean, the one you got for 100 INR.

                    • Hello guys. Hope u all doing great with your steeds!
Please pour in your experience/suggestions for the problem:
2 weeks ago my bike (RTR fi) fell off to right side of it, due to this right side driver side foot peg has been broken i changed it the very same day but after this event i am feeling a bit of screeching/friction vibes and noise on left side driver foot peg. jst yesterday, i was at 115kmph and suddenly rear tyre start wobbling like hell as it got deflated but when i stop the bike and look at it, its fine no sign of low on air pressure or puncture. i checked rear wheel bearing its fine and i have a doubt about bushes of swing arm as it may get damaged during the impact on right foot peg.
Guys what do you think? what would be the cause of rear wheel wobbling in my case?
please pour in your expert inputs/experience/troubleshoot tips etc.

                      • Hello Folks,

I am looking at the Apache RTR 160 as a replacement for my decade plus old Splendor, but am confused about choosing between the FI and Hyper Edge [carb] versions.

Info/advice about the pros & cons, maintenance, niggles/irritants, ease of servicing/troubleshooting and availability of spares for both versions would be a great help in deciding which one to buy. Also, if I do choose the HE version, should I opt for/against rear disc brakes? My driving style is usually sedate, unless the roads are almost empty.

If any Apache RTR 160 owners from Pune are reading this, could you please share which dealer did you buy the bike from, on road price, delivery period, freebies if any etc?

                        Thanks in advance!

                        Cheers,
                        Vikram

First of All FI production is stopped. So you have only one option left & thats the carb one .
Then from my 6 months of exp in RTR-HE only thing that worried me is the stock tires which are crap in rainy condition. In dry condition u r the king of the road . The other issue is gear shiftings will be quite stiff as time goes, which I believe is a common RTR behaviour. Well my riding style is quite aggressive so I went for rear disc. Well in your case front disc will be more than enough. Also the plus point in RTR-HE is that there is no more vibrations like the older models. As I'm from bangalore I have no idea how much it cost in Pune.
In short you will love this bike so much that you woudn't like to ride any other bikes(i mean a lower cc or even 150cc pulsars) because the throttle response is so cool.

                          • hey guys, my FI's front and rear tyres are due for change.
                            I've shortlisted
zapper FS - 90/90/17 for front
and for rear im confused between zapper Q and C - 100/90/18
i asked for PSD but no one in 5km radius has it
and ive heard Michelins are a bit heavy for RTR's comfort plus Pilot sporty isnt that great too (dont know about siracs and M45s)

                            Any inputs welcome.

Thank you very much for your reply, susheelkumar. The TVS website has the Apache FI 160 as one of the variants, so I assumed that is still an option. If its production is stopped, then that makes my choice easier. Also, it's heartening to note that the vibrations have been reduced. :-)

For front,FS is good but for rear ,you should go with the MRF Zapper-Q.Gives descent grip in both dry & wet.
