  • Hi guys,

I recently got shifted to Kochi, Kerala.

My bike has completed 21K kms and I need to service the bike very soon. I need to change the chain set completely during this service.

So can anyone please tell me the best place to get my bike's service done in Kochi ?

    Thanks in advance.

Very happy, its dual disc! 74,400 on road in New Delhi.
Drove it for 12 km to home worked fine(used all five gears, shifted at 4k rpm, kept below 45kph), but then it was not coming down from 3k rpm in the last few meters. Don't know why, its was 2pm in afternoon, so it was very hot.
I wanted a few tips how to keep it good in the run in period.
      Thanks in advance!

And also, how do i upload a pic? :P
Browser says sending request to xbhp.com and nothing happens.
CongratsChange your engine oil at around 150-200kms,you can get it done from outside mechanic.Keep it under 4k rpm,and gradually you can increase the speed and occasional bursts are fine too.

          thanks

I am updating the above mentioned problem. I checked the service center, he washed and lubricated the chain for 100 Rupees. It was fine for 50 kms, but after that it started to give chain noise when i drive less than optimum speed for each gear. This happened during the entire 400 km trip to mysore recently.. what should I do ?

          Thanks

          • My friend had a crash yesterday and luckily left out with few injuries since he was wearing safety gears. The front dome is completely crashed. Can anyone here help me how much exactly does the front dome costs?

            • Clutch plate wear ??

I ride a 2.5yr old RTR 160 with 26k on the odo. Oil = Shell Synthetic Xw40. 95% redline shifting and hard riding. Off late i ve noticed the following things.

1.Engine Overheating - Even after 500 kms after changing to FS oil
              2.Hard Gear Shifts
3.Dragging Acceleration like someone has engaged the brake pads a little.
              4.Poor Mileage
5.Top Speed Hit badly maxing out at 112.
6.Engine roaring like am strangling it
7.I park the bike on main stand, engage into first and pull the clutch. The wheel doesn stop.Tried stopping it with my foot.Stops till the force is on but gets running once i remove my foot.

Are these symptoms of clutch plates gone or is it anything else.Every passing day i feel i am stressing the bike in this condition but i am not able to figure it out.

Cant take it to the ASC without figuring out the problem as the only one here is absolute s**t.

And there is one more problem, with the front wheel.New tyre 2k back. Stock specs TVS.
The wheel kinda drifts away when i am leaning even for 5 to 10 degrees. Its super scary.Feels like the wheel is sliding out.Checked the alloy orientation perfect with a very negligible offset.

Has it got to do with something other than the wheel or the tyre.Wheel bearings probably??

And finally is there any customer support email id for TVS ,wanna write a long love-hate story to them.

And i dont mind riding it to the Hosur factory to get the whole engine checked for wear and tear and the whole bike.Wanna get this checked by their factory engineers. The guys who know the RTR like the back of their hand. The guys who pour life into these babies.
Will they entertain such requests ? i wouldn mind sitting outside their factory for days to get them to agree to this :P.

The ASC s here are bad and i dont want some random mechanic to diagnose the problems.Need a doctor.

              Yelp!!

I am facing this same problem. Even I tried lubricating and tightening the chain. But it will start making the same noise after 1 or 2 days. The guy at the ASC told me that I need to change the entire chain set. But I couldn't trust him because he will say this of every minor issue. So I went to a local mechanic and told him about the chain noise. Then he showed me that the chain looks tight and loose while rotating with rear wheel and suggested me to change the chain set. So I am convinced now and I am going to change it on my next service.

I dont think the chain set is covered under warranty. You can refer to the manual for confirming that. So I hope we will have to pay for that and the cost will be between 1k and 1.5k

                      • i went the SVC to get my problems rectified.

1.he tuned my carb and cleaned, it he told me to check the mileage and tell me....adjusted the tappets
2.i complained about the handle bar shaking/ wobbling at 54-63 km/h he told me he checked all the forks and later told me that the tyre beading is the culprit and i have to claim warranty for that at SVC where i bought the vehicle.(i bought the bike in triton motors and this SVC is fast tri TVS)
3.he put a 2 side tape under the clamp where the RTR logo is there to get rid of the trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr trrrrrrrrrrrrrrr sound after 4k RPM.it persists after this.
