    Got new indicators and side stand for ₹500. One way clutch was not available. It sometimes make loud bang or kad kad sound as if engine broke down. [emoji24]

    Which part is shaking? Is it the whole assembly or just the projector inside the assembly? IIRC there are four screws which hold it in place inside the fairing. Pull out the fairing and see if one of those have become loose.

    Dying starter clutch- Bike not starting intermittently, strange noises inside the starter clutch assembly, during startup the bike cranks but does not start up, can be may reasons. What are the symptoms you are seeing?

    4) The engine heat sensor indicator is always on on Console. Even if I put key to ignition on the next morning it stays on. The response which I got is that heat sensors needs to be changed but it is different on Fi and the carburetor one will not work. I observed that a wire which comes from radiator at front is broken but not sure for which purpose that wire is.

    5) Most of the wiring joints and relays have rust over it. Can I consider replacing the entire wiring harness ? If, yes will the new one fits on my model.

    6) Lastly, can anyone here who owns a Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi suggest a good mechanic in Pune where I can get my service done. Till now my experience is not good both with company service centers as well as local mechanics.

    Any suggestions are welcome on above points which will help me to retain this bike for few more years.
    My responses to your questions-

    1) You definitely need to find a Bajaj service centre that will perform CO tuning for your bike. Most of the older service centre, that now service KTM's should be able to do this. Open up your spark plugs to check what is the colour to indicate if its running rich/lean/perfect AFR before you do CO tuning. Typically, mileage is impacted a) AFR Tuning b) Filters (Air & Fuel) c) Clutch plate condition d) Chain Sprocket & Tyre Condition

    2) Not crossing 100 Kmph could be due to incorrect AFR (too rich or lean), clogged filters (air/fuel), worn/dry out sprockets

    3) Need to identify the source of this sound, it could be something come loose in the starter clutch assembly area, or timing chain, or even a broken internal pipe in the exhaust. You need to find out from where this sound emanates.

    4) Again, you need to plug in the diagnostic tool to your bike and see if the temperature sensor has conked off. And yes, the Fi sensor is specific the Dtsi sensor does not fit. Keep in mind this is a tough to get hold of part. I just ordered my spare sensor last week as mine might conk at any moment.

    5) Please get the wiring harness replace, again it needs to be the FI specific one. By 2008 they had improved the harness quite a bit (depending on which month you picked up your bike). But for the Fi definitely helps to sort out most of the electrical problems once the wiring harness is replaced. I got mine changed in 2011 for 2.7K, I believe the prices is still around the same.

    6) Check with [MENTION=10454]MG[/MENTION] where he gets his Fi serviced. He's the lone Fi riding xBhpian I know in that region now. Or send your bike over to Bangalore, I'll get it sorted out and back to stock condition in a month

    If you are keeping the bike for another 2-3 years, get Amaron. Else get anything else, doesn't matter.
    Most likely will go with anything that's available online for a good rate

    No, haven't changed to KA registration. Enquired them to get an idea of how much the P220 would fetch if exchanged .

    About the Dominar , I felt the riding posture to be unique , saddle height seemed taller and tank was also placed high , liked it in the short spin I had , need to take a longer test ride to see if I really like the bike. Also need to do a test ride with pillion. But heck we don't have much options in this price range with all the features that Dominar offers!

    Sounds like a battery issue. My starter clutch had disintegrated and was making mixer grinder like sounds while the bike was running.

    Its a good deal depending on your choice, I tried out the Dominar and I did not like it.

    The price you are getting for the 220 is quite good actually, in the open market you may get around 5K more maybe. But did you change to KA registration?

    Oh man, my bike also seem to be having issues with starter clutch or the battery. During cold starts the infamous krrrrr krrrr sound comes up sometimes. Planning to get the battery changed first as it has been over 3 years on current battery , but as you said feeling disinterested to change something on this old machine. Its like a money sucking machine for past 2-3 years though the riding has been very low for me.

    Other stuff that needs replacement cone set and front brake caliper. The CO setting also needs to be checked and calibrated as I don't remember when was it set last time, been ages since I visited a Bajaj service center.

    Took a test ride of Dominar and the guy there quoted at the max 20-23k for the P220 in exchange. Seems a good deal??

    Updating a very old thread for a very old machine.

    Visited xbhp after ages and I had to come to my favorite thread of all times!

    My bike is close to 9 years old and have clocked a very slow 61k kms .

    I went on a ride after a long gap of over 2 years, in feb this year , the old fella is still a good touring machine! Did a 1000kms round trip with 250 odd hair pin bends in total in 2 days and I thoroughly enjoyed riding the P220 all over again! Though the bike feels slow and less safe on the 4 lane / 6 lane highways these days!

    This is the circuit I did BLR - MYS - Bandipur - Mudumalai - Theppakadu - Ooty - Lovedale - Manjur - Geddai - Mulli - Avinashi - Perundurai - Namakkal - Kolli Malai and back - Salem - Krishnagiri - BLR
