    Carburettor Issues.

Anyone who is using another carburettor on his Karizma? I'm thinking to go for a BS29 Mikuni. Needed a second opinion on the same.

Hello my ZMA's front meter panel has stopped working. The rpm meter, speedometer and the digital trip and fuel meter all were working fine when suddenly all of them stopped. The local mechanic checked and said current is coming to the circuit and no other problems of fuse or relay. The circuit has gone kaput. He says he can't mend it and the complete set needs to be changed. Any suggestions please and moreover i don't think I would get any original meter assembly set.
    Thanks in advance.

The RTR bar-ends are universal, literally fits any hole, as the insert is held in place by a rubber tube pinched by two washers on both ends.

So when you screw the screw the rubber tube that goes inside the handlebar gets pinched and expands to form a tight seal, so simple a toddler could install it.

If I can't get the ZMA inserts I might go for the rtr ones.
I had no idea, usually I wouldn't care about bar ends, even on my ZMA I had the plastic caps installed, they're the same for Hero and Honda, though either one of them is priced at a premium and I can't remember which.

The only reason I went for RTR weights on the KTM handle setup installed then on my P220 was because I'd skipped installing the bushes and the vibes were jarring and needed to be watered down.

Compared to that the ZMA is vibe-free with the exception of those idle vibes that go away once the revs start climbing.

Sir, I think both his bar end weights and the grips are from Hero Honda Xtreme (2011-2012) model. Do you think the Karizma ZMR ones will fit on the ZMA?

    Back in Black.

After a 2 month wait my ZMA is back from painting.... in full black sans any stickering. There are still some more things to be done, like chain cover ( not available locally) , new fairing ( yet to locate the one I had bought) , OE bar end weights ( OE not available, mechanic put in some other bikes') etc. The 1st time I rode it I felt it was too silent, I've been used to "Noisy Boy" RX100's roar for the past 2 months. After 3 days of riding the sound is coming back. The change in power is most welcome. I haven't tuned it yet, currently running on the Mech's tuning. The air filter is PSR Sir's Zen mpfi mod. Wondering whether to get it Teflon coated...

Hi acs. Glad to know that you are still active here
Yes I had tried WD 40 but didn’t workout.
Planning to take it to lathe

Got the carb cleaned and found that the AFR screw is stuck.
My bike was seldom used in last 5 years.!
Mechanic was suggesting to get the carb changed.
Take the carb to lathe. They will do that.

Provided you're fine with running a static map the following carbs are a direct fit for the ZMA.

    1. Pulsar 180 - The carb dia is a bit smaller hence you'll have to change insulator to a smaller size from another Honda and at the airbox side you need to use sealant. This setup offers the best FE though lacks grunt down low as reported by a fellow enthusiast, a tuner from Thrissur did mention upjetting it but the user is running on stock jets without any concerns.

    2. Pulsar 220 - This is the go to carb for the ZMA, the older variants came with Auto Choke but that has been removed in the latest iteration.

    3. Pulsar 200NS - This also works as shared by an enthusiast whose running on the setup, Auto Choke doesn't work.

A walk-around for setting up the auto choke is by hooking it up to the starter wiring, so that it gets activated when you thumb the starter, though both users with P220 and 200NS carburetor did say that they've never felt the need for choke.
