Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
I'm not am expert. But you said your rubber switches for clock and trip was missing. I too had the same problem and one day while washing the bike, small amount of water get into the meter through the holes of the switch and the trip meter used to get resetted for two days. I guess your battery voltage is fine. There is a chance of moisture inside the meter and it may be causing a short circuit inside. Again, I'm no expert. But I experienced the same thing.Originally posted by sim7727 View Postbro ...i just checked the battery voltage when the engine is off the battery voltage is 12.5v and when the engine is started the voltage is increasing to 13.9 reading. the battery guy also said that the battery is fine.
what else might be the reason for this wierd behavior of the trip and clock meter??

Good Luck.
Check Battery voltage at Ignition OFF .It should be 12.5 Volts DC. now start the engine while reading the voltage. If the voltage drops to below 10 Volts at starting time, then it means the battery has low charge or on the way out. With engine idling at 1250 RPM ,the battery should show 13.5 ~14.5 volts. When you buy battery ensure it is 3 months or less old. A battery sitting without charge is likely to form Sulfation and become bad quickly.

i ordered at thesparescompany.com bro but they told its out of stock....hopefully today one of the manager of the near by service station arranged the rubber switch for me . At least i am happy with that. apart from that the automatic resetting of trip and clock meter problem persistes....need to get a solution for that.Originally posted by rydergeorge View PostThe rubber switch is available on thesparescompany.com . Even if you order one piece, they may send you a packet of 5 which costs 50 rupees (10 each).

3. Bigger Battery 9ah + .
4. Reducing some fibre vibrations.
5. Auxiliary LED lights
6. Crash Guard for mounting auxiliary lights( removing the engine cowl).
7. Packing the open areas below the back panels.
8. Fibre parts fixing for cracks
Any other suggestions??

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Hi friends my name is Nagaraj from chennai,
I am new to this thread, I have been reading this thread since I bought a Karizma R V2 ( 2014 ) as a seconda hand bike , which clocked 35K Oda on 2016 end.
1. From the day one itself I have been facing an issue with low gears at bike start up. When I start my bike after a long hour of ideal the bike knocks at low end,
when I try to push the accelerator sometimes bike is getting halt. recently I have cleaned the Carburator and changes engine oil to Motul 7100 10W40.
I have checked the vaccum tubes which is connected to engine and carburator for blockage , they fine I have cleaned them. Even I am facing cold start issues, But I have started use choke it is became a habiit for me whenever I start my bike.
2. another problem I am facing is recently I have changed cone set due to sound from handle bar whenever I hit disk brake. Even after this I am facing wobbling issue, any edge and even a small stone making me unstable on turns and straight ride. I have checked with front wheel for shake, and even confirmed with mechanic for bearing fault, We couldn't find the issue.
3. One more thing to ask, I am planning for some modification on my after going through some of mods and idea page for Karizma R and ZMR. It is possible to use hondaCB trigger's speedometer console on Karizma R. Because I have seen some of the persons used Universal chinese speedometor on Karizma and posted a video on youtube.
any input on this will be helpful for me... Thanks in advance...!

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Thinking of selling my trusted partner..my Karizma R which I bought in Tambaram, Chennai in 2009 Nov. I call it Bucephalus and I have done countless long rides in this bike. The total odo reading is around 1 lakh kms. There is is absolutely no issues I am facing with the bike and I am happy to keep him for another decade. But I want to upgrade and I won't be able to keep 2 bikes together. I stay in a rented apartment in Bangalore and parking might be an issue for 2 bikes. Also I am not sure if I can do justice to the bike after I buy a new one. I am married from last 3 years and I know if I am not buying a new ride now, it will be difficult for me to do that in the future.
The steed still does a occasional 135-140 kmph(Without pillion) without breaking a sweat and a continuous 90-95 (With Pillion) whole day. There are nil vibrations in the bike, I have changed all the cracked plastic parts couple of years back and the rubbers are still have a lot of life left. I have upgraded with bigger Carb, High lift Cam, Uni free flow filter and I have the free flow exhaust with me which I am not using from last 1 year because of Bangalore Cops. Its been upgraded some 5-6 years back and I haven't faced any issues with the upgrades what so ever. I have been using Motul 300v full synthetic oil for last 80-90k kms and it runs butter smooth. I dont revv madly for long hours, try not to put too much strain on the engine and the result is effortless ride and low maintenance costs. But it does have regular wear and tear for which I spend an average of 1000-1500 in every 4-5 months.
I want some suggestions on- Should I sell it and buy a bigger capacity at all ? - Priorities are touring/pillion comfort, ABS, higher cruising speed, additional cylinder
. Cant spend more than 3-3.5 lakhs though. I dont need a what bike advice because I will take a test ride if I have to buy and will decide whichever connects
- How do I find a worthy buyer ? - I don't want to sell to someone who wont take care of the bike. Rather that selling it to a rookie, I will prefer to give it away to a cousin brother.
- How much ₹ it will fetch me approximately? - I had spent around 20k on the performance upgrades.
- Is there a way I can increase the power output further and improve the braking as well? - Somehow I feel the brakes are not apt for 90 kmph+ highway runs. Especially when you are 90+ kilos and ride with pillion and luggage. It was a lot better with Pirelli tyres though. Well...I was 70 kilos and didn't have a pillion those days

Any kind words from the experts would be highly appreciated!
