@payeng: Your probably right, you can never predict when a upgrade would be released, but the fact that there is an upgrade itself is a treat enough for me
I don't know whether the rivets are removable or not but yes, sure they have been changed and I do hope for the better..

As for the tacho, yes, I do not like the white face. A blue backlight would've been super-cool but Bajaj being Bajaj...Ah, well..Forget it!

^^ if you can somehow remove the LCD display and replace the LED on it's PCB to that of a blue one, maybe it can glow blue, but we need the layout of the circuit to be able to do this

rivets are fitted with 2 removable screws that can be opened easily...while the older 200s are fitted with inbuilt ones...a positive point indeed
but the tacho....i feel white is looking horrible...n really they should have changed the background light as well but as said by aryan Bajaj will be Bajaj...cant do anything...

I phoned up PBK today and tried lobbying to get my exhaust changed under warranty, their argument is that since it has been dented and scratched i probably won't be covered under warranty and i would have to go for insurance, when i asked them how much it costed and they told me it was 7,000 rupees while i was expecting it to be somewhere at 5000 rupees max, so i'm in a dilemna as to what to do, if custom exhausts are cheaper i might go for one of those

^^ 'Cause my 2007 200 is from the batch of vehicles whose rivets were'nt strong enough and therefore over a period of time due to heat the rivets holding the down pipe and the end-can together started coming off

i think it should come under warranty. Even mine is a 2007 model, dint face any problem as yet.
But if bajaj people do not agree get it changed through insurance. Entire amount will be paid by them and you just need to pay them the scrap amount not more than 200rs.
But if you tell the insurance people that what you mentioned above(heating problem)they wont change it,
But there is a way out. Bang your silencer with a hammer and tell them that your bike was stationary while some vehicle came and hit your bike. That's all you have to say.

I changed my tank with this reason only

^^ Well these guys at PBK are telling me that i can claim insurance of upto 10,000 rupees for the bike without a FIR, now i'm worried that it might exceed this limit, 'cause after the recent accident i have to absolutely change my tank and i thought i would include the silencer to this list as well, however i think i'll be ending up with a bill of 12,000 rupees, so what do i do then? should i pay the remaining 2,000 rupees if the rest gets covered under insurance? but the good thig about this is that i get 90% claim for all metal parts since it's less than a year old

AFAIK MOTUL has a good rep on here.. I havent used it myself as i have just over 3k on my odo and which reminds me to ask when's the right time to switch to motul.

I think Sandeep K Ram should be the best one to guide on this, thats if he still checks the 200 topics since he's now on a ZMA sadly :P

Three words dude...............Motul 300 V, i swear by it, it's by far the best engine oil company in India, heck even their full mineral 3000T runs for nearly 3500kms (you can PM praful_tripathy if you dont believe me), a one litre can costs you about Rs. 650/- which is good value considering it can run for 5000~6000kms between oil changes, that's nearly three services!

Motul is good, and if you want another alternative, you have Valvoline 4T Premium. My bike is running on Valvoline and I can swear by it. Its 200per ltr compared to 600 for motul.

Well regarding the silencer, I got mine changed under warranty. It costs around 6k in hyd. Had leakage from it (thank God!). My bike is a July 27, 2007 model and run close to 22k kms. Both the mags got a crack and bent during a long ride. Went over a deep pothole. The mags are repaired and ill be picking my bike tonight and most probably will be fitting HID too. I was thinking to get the speedo backlight changed to blue. How would it look? My bike is black btw.

Cheap and fast is not Reliable

Actually it's 650 for a litre of fully synthetic engine oil, What is the procedure you are following for HID'ing your bike? are you going to DC your bike's output? tell us how it comes out and also tell us if you are able to change the back light and give us the details
