I'm afraid you are giving us very little info and probably a bit late that too (15,000kms late ), well here are some queries about your bike, try giving us the near accurate answer as possible

    1. What is the mileage of your bike? (There's more to this question than just the figure you might be telling us)

    2. What parts have you changed in your bike that need not or should not have changed in it's 19,000kms?

    3. How often do you take the bike on the highways?

    4. What is the daily mileage you clock on your bike?

    5. What engine oil are you using currently? (Optional)

(ZMA is your biggest contender in an 400m drag, simply shoots past the 220 near very end)

Uhh....guys i'm really sorry for saying this but there is absolutely no way an R15 can be beat by a 200, well unless it is very heavily modded ("very" being the keyword), we've actually dragged an R15, RTR, RTR-Fi, ZMA, 220 and a 200 once on a G2G (there's a thread here about it too), and just to give you an idea how good the R15 is............no one, i mean not even the owner of the bike was able to properly launch or take the bike to it's powerband, irrespective of who rode it at the end of the 400m the speed on the R15 was always below 110kmph, what i'm trying to say here is that the powerband of an R15 is at the extreme end of the rev range and very narrow, but at that range the bike is tells a whole different story (as i've been told by people who were able to take it to that point), so unless you are an pro you won't know the exact potential of the bike and as to the debate as to whether an modded 200 can beat a R15, well there would be very little distance between them even if the 200 manages to stick it up in the launch (i have a very vague memory of Joel telling me that if launched properly the R15 can surpass the RTR at low-end even). The bike in it's stock form is a featherlight 131kgs (dry) considering the fact that it's full faired, while the 200's weighs 139kgs (dry), while we break the bank in modding the 200 crazy, all that the R15 has to do is lose it's plastics
I agree with you. No hard feelings. I did put in a note that the bike could do better if it is up-jetted. But then, I'll need to work on that. And I still haven't got the hang of riding it in the power-band continuously. I've been popping wheelies like crazy though. Very small ones that make me feel extremely insignificant. :P

Each of my cables cost me Rs.450. Yes, they fit on both the spark plugs. But then, they'll require a slight modification to fit on the right hand side spark plug. Any proper mechanic will be able to do that though.

          • ^^+1, Also the cables conduct faster than normal one's as they are double braided, therefore ensuring constant spark voltage irrespective at what revs you are riding in, this coupled with the Iridium sparkies will ensure accurate spark and prevent misfiring

EDIT: Dude you are not pulling my leg are you?? What exactly do you mean by "still haven't got the hang of riding it in the power-band continuously" ('Cause as far as i've seen you ride it does'nt feel like that)

:P I kid you not. I can do it. But I haven't got the hang of it yet.

^^ +1 Trust me. The cables and spark plugs really do make a difference. And this is evident from testing. I would go so far as to say they're a much better addition than your K&N filters, because these filters don't usually suit some styles of riding. You'll end up increasing your mileage too, but then don't get your hopes too high on that.

Now, I only wish I could alter the firing on my bike. If only there was someone who had attempted to change the mapping of their CDI in the city. I don't know of one single mechanic who could do that job cleanly. ELD - any ideas?

              • ^^ Though it does seem a mighty lot tempting to just swap the stock firing with a custom one, there might a lot of other problems creeping up on us because of this, firstly we don't know if the block can handle the increase in temperature, and we probably would need to kick up our electrical systems to handle the load done by the two spark plugs, the bike would drink up a lot of engine oil, the endless parts we would need to have ready in case something conks off, even if we manage to do all this the bike might turn out to be totally unrideable and reliability also would take a toss

                  I have one word. Killjoy.
Just kidding. Well, yeah, the imaginative possibilities are endless. It might not be so practical, but then, there is someone in here from Indonesia who's remapped their CDI right? I seriously would like to get to know more about that.

Oh yeah. We can actually ask him if he can get the CDI mapping chip from there, and ship it across. But then we'll have to find someone who can re-map properly here. Or else the ride's going to be wasted big time.

I was wondering, did you custom fit the new chip by yourself? Or did you get it done by a mechanic? And is it a very complicated procedure?
