Not necessarily. But if you go 55/60 osram night breaker, its mandatory you change it. The coil of avenger is bigger than the 200 stock ones. It costs you somewhere around 550.Originally posted by Insidious View PostThere are Bikers

Hi
Guys Need your Help.....
I am riding 200 BLUE from last 15 months, covered almost 1900KM and it is been serviced on every 1500 to 1700 KM. I don't remember If I have done running inn...... The bike is awesome I have touched 134 KMPH on it….. provided I was completely sleeping on the tank and it was on a straight stretch to Lonavala… I just wanted to know, not doing running inn will make any effect to its pistons or Engine…because it still roars the same way it use to do before…just need you help…
cheers

@Full Throttle: There seems to be some typo, 15 months and you have ridden just 1900 kms?
And if i am rightly assuming hat you have already done 19k then there is no point worrying about running in now, as now you cant do aything about it now, so just relax and enjoy your bike.

Swiggy Mayhem!
We're trying to start an initiative where we're gathering enough photos or videos
of erratic Swiggy/Zomato/UberEats riders across all cities so we can cast a spotlight
on this issue and try and sort it out. If you video-record as you ride, or have a
dash-cam in your car, or can take SAFELY photographs of instances where these riders
are creating a nuisance by riding recklessly on the roads, PLEASE share the same with
us on the thread above. Appreciate it!

Don't worry water is actually denser than petrol, therefore the water will get settled in the bottom of your carb and would have probably drained out of the drain pipe provided in the carb itself, if you are still skeptical about this remove the bottom of your carb (the curved bowl shaped bottom) and drain out any water that may be there, or else take your bike to any mech and have him remove the whole carb and spray it with air, then clean the carb throughly with spirit, should'nt be much of a problemOriginally posted by SomDumGuy View Postguys i need urgent help!

I also read in the "Let There Be Light" thread that not changing the relay will cause the battery to get over charged, is this true?
Some say that relay has to be changed and others say it works fine
Any idea about the same?
Also heard that self-start motor is more stressed during start ups, is this true?
Any drop in mileage?
Any other known issues?
Sorry for asking so many questions

Stock 200 vs. Slightly modified 200
Ok, this is an update. I thought I'd put this up coz it would spread some light.
ELD and I took our bikes down to a place called Padi or something yesterday. It's about 50km off-shoot of Chennai. We took our bikes down there to check them out, seeing as ELD had just switched back to his stock filter, and since I still had my K&N fit.
ELD's bike was running on a slightly richer mixture, I think, after having tuned his carburetor while he had the K&N fit. Otherwise, his ride was stock. Mine, has a K&N air filter (RC1060), with a tuned carburetor, NGK Iridium Spark Plugs and Splitfire cables. I had gotten the cables put in only the day before that, and I really wanted to check the difference out.
We carried out a series of drags (400m) between the both of us at this place. It turns out that while the launch from both the bikes were equal, mine had a slightly better mid-range grunt. In all the races, after about 4500-5000 rpm, my bike was simply pulling away from ELD's. I would put this down to the spark plugs and the cables. As far as I've heard, they improve your mid-range.
To really compare the mid-range grunt, ELD and I tried to compare the 3rd gear roll-on. We were maintaining 4000rpm on 3rd gear, and then started the roll-on from a decided point. My bike shot forward in the roll-on, which pretty much confirms that the mid-range has definitely improved. I think, had I re-jet the carburetor to bigger jets, maybe size 115 or 117, I might have gotten better results. Also, this entire thing is only a rough comparison. We wish we had data-logging units.
A couple of interesting add-ons:
We found a member of Gutzy Roadies down at Padi. He was performing stunts on an RTR 160 Refresh. He agreed to have a drag with us, and ELD ran on his bike. Although I couldn't watch the entire thing, seeing as I flagged it off, I found that the RTR has better low-end grunt. I watched it shoot forward, away from ELD, although, in a bit, ELD was able to catch up with him and pass him. I'm waiting to hear more about this from ELD himself.
We tried wheelies after that, before heading home. We had never been able to pop wheelies on our bikes, and this time, we managed to get our front in the air, although only for a short time. I think it's pretty easy to wheelie if we practice a little bit.
When we got into the city, ELD decided to try another stunt - precariously balancing a 1kg fresh-cream chocolate pastry on his bike's tank for a distance of almost 20 odd kms.
I got a picture, and I heard that the cake was safe when he got home.

True. A modded P200 CAN beat an R15. But the converse is also true.Originally posted by CJ View PostA nice review ...i also heard that a modded p200 can beat r15....Is it true? Throw some light on it experts :d
And a stock R15 can beat a stock P200 too.
It comes down to whose hands the vehicle is in. I've smoked 220s and R15s. I've gotten smoked by an RX and other bikes too.
You've got to consider what kind of modifications we're talking about, and you need the vehicles juxtaposed to really judge whether one can beat the other or not.

Nice write-up there Insidious, well the modded 200 really started pulling away after 5500rpm, even though in the intial stages of the powerband i managed jump ahead, but IMO the bike is still running a few paces below it's potential (no hard feelings Insid. just my 2 cents) and with proper jetting and tune-up the bike can probably beat a ZMA! (ZMA is your biggest contender in an 400m drag, simply shoots past the 220 near very end)
Originally posted by CJ View PostA nice review ...i also heard that a modded p200 can beat r15....Is it true? Throw some light on it experts :dUhh....guys i'm really sorry for saying this but there is absolutely no way an R15 can be beat by a 200, well unless it is very heavily modded ("very" being the keyword), we've actually dragged an R15, RTR, RTR-Fi, ZMA, 220 and a 200 once on a G2G (there's a thread here about it too), and just to give you an idea how good the R15 is............no one, i mean not even the owner of the bike was able to properly launch or take the bike to it's powerband, irrespective of who rode it at the end of the 400m the speed on the R15 was always below 110kmph, what i'm trying to say here is that the powerband of an R15 is at the extreme end of the rev range and very narrow, but at that range the bike is tells a whole different story (as i've been told by people who were able to take it to that point), so unless you are an pro you won't know the exact potential of the bike and as to the debate as to whether an modded 200 can beat a R15, well there would be very little distance between them even if the 200 manages to stick it up in the launch (i have a very vague memory of Joel telling me that if launched properly the R15 can surpass the RTR at low-end evenOriginally posted by Insidious View PostTrue. ). The bike in it's stock form is a featherlight 131kgs (dry) considering the fact that it's full faired, while the 200's weighs 139kgs (dry), while we break the bank in modding the 200 crazy, all that the R15 has to do is lose it's plastics
I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.
