    Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler

I too faced this problem got the bearings changed known as coneset its good after that(1000 plus kms since i changed the bearing). It usually happens when the bike hits a pothole or a rough road i just stop at the side of the road wait for a few seconds and continue again but its not the solution just a temporary thing one can do

Now the bike tracks much better, but still on the brakes there's pronounced deviation. And it just weaves left and right, not just to one side. After leaving the brakes, it still weaves a little bit for some time. Even other wise if I take my hands of the bars at moderate speeds, the bars do wobble a bit. Just got the steering head bearings changed as well. Do these need further adjustment immediately after being newly fitted? I was watching this youtube video (Steering head bearings: how to replace and adjust - YouTube) (check at 1.22)where the guy suggested after about 500kms new bearings must be readjusted. Also not to forget the white elephant in the room, my front tire is 60000 kms old!! But still i do think it looks decent enough and the weave is quite pronounced as well.

Please advice about things to check for. Thanks in advance!

caution here: service your bike atleast a 15 days before going to trip
if something goes wrong during serive can have a serious problem in trip

make sure your tires are in good condition

Surprisingly the mileage that Dazzler giving me is incredible for city driving. I am consistantly hitting 60kpml mileage. I have calculated it using the Mileage tool from about 6 months.

I have changed only the chain sprocket and battery recently and the rest is all good. I went to the service yesterday and to my surprise the accessories were not available with the dealer. He says as the model is dis continued, it seems to be very difficult to find the parts/accessories.

I need to know the below things from the techies here. Please help me on this.
    1. The honda mechanic said that the compression was very low. he had to remove, pump it up and then get it going is what he said. he advised me to change the Valves which he quoted might cost me 2k. He showed me some oil applied exactly on the opposite side of the spark plug and he was referring to that area. Can some one tell me what is the issue with my bike.
    2. Being a 150cc bike, it can easily hit 90+ but I see it struggles to pull 2 ppl in a parking slot up wards in 2nd gear. I had to down shift to 1st gear to get going. Is this common with all dazzlers?
    3. Also any one using the beading seat cover for dazzler? if yes, can some one post the links, details, price etc. I am asking for this as the cat is really tearing up my seat cover.

Mods, If I have posted anything wrong here or in the wrong thread, my sincere apologies. Please move/delete the post.

Just show the bike to me once as you stay in the same locality where I live. I will be able to assess exactly. I have a compression tester, but its not with me right now. I will try to get it later and we will probably able to check the exact compression value. Since your bike is running now, I am sure the compression is above 100 psi, the minimum pressure required for an engine to work. I suspect the mechanic referring to gasket leak between the cylinder and head, which might decrease the compression. If the gasket is leaking, then just replacing it is enough. Replacement of valves not needed for just 22k kms, unless there are symptoms that valves have problems (which in your case I don't suspect).

    Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler

Just ask from the mechanic that what should be the realistic compression for an 22000kms old bike, get yourself an compression tester as that is the only way of knowing the health of the engine, the engine should give minimum of 100psi pressure, if the reading comes below this mark you have to go for either valve change or top end rebuild, if the reading comes between 125 to 145 i would say you are good.Get the bikes clutch plates checked.
