  • the way stoner overtook pedrosa... was a moment. brilliant stuff.

was disappointed with Sic... after he overtook Dovi...
all he did was slow him down.

Spies was prolly bored all alone.

        • This thread is moving at quite a pace, faster than Rossi's quali laps.

I have been watching races for quite sometime and can say that the race craft and pace which Rossi possesses isn't found in any other rider so far.

Yes, on and out lap, Casey might be fast, but when they go out racing, I am yet to come across any race where Valentino was beat fair & square by any rider. Can any of you point out any race where he was beat?

Sorry, but Ducati is shit, look what it has done to both Hayden & VR. Melandri was so much pissed off and demotivated that he junked GP racing and joined WSBK (am glad though, but not the way he was forced to switch). I hope most would remember the '05 era where Melandri on a 990cc Honda had become a threat to Rossi's championship winning streak. He was simply annihilating.

It isn't Rossi, its Ducati which is the culprit. Sure some riders (Casey) can rider an ill handling/behaving bike by the scruff of its neck, its in their style. But bring someone equally talented (like Bayliss) who's experience on Ducati's is to be revered and you shall see how shit the GP 11 in its current form is.

No one knows as to whether Rossi will bounce back as the other riders on the grid are just so talented that w/o a capable Motorcycle, you join the field of also rans. That brings me to the sad part of GP racing in its current format. Rider or ride? You see Andrea's results on the Honda? He only won twice in the 250's and was a runner-up to Lorenzo twice. Look where the Honda is taking him, 3rd in the championship

I sincerely hope 2012 changes this and the rider takes precedence over the ride for the sake of racing.

          • While my last posts have expressed concern over whether Rossi is fading, there is one benefit of doubt that must be given here.

            1. Any rider, be it Doohan, Rossi or Stoner cannot perform on a bike where they are not comfortable. Watching Rossi in every race from the beginning of this season, it becomes pretty evident that he is not really comfortable with the bike. As a mere mortal, it would be unfair of me to expect Rossi to ride around problems.
            2. Jeremy Burgess...I mean where is he? The man responsible for all of Rossi's championships and 5 of Mick Doohan's, is missing. Has the hopeless Ducati camp prevented him from working his magic or is he simply unable to figure out the reasons for Rossi's machine?

These two points tilt the favor on Vale's side. I would have loved to see a four way battle between VR, CS, JL and DP yesterday. As most on this forum would know it, these are the only guys that can be devastatingly fast in a race.

            How I wish!!

Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

agree on the racecraft part...Lorenzo and spies are also good at it..., Bautista seems to have the potential...

Valentino has been beaten in some races...Le mans 02/03 (last corner overtake by Sete), some race in 2007 by casey...but never on a consistent basis whenever he was fit...

after VR... Lorenzo is prolly the next best at it.

                        Rossi says
"I've never asked Ducati for that (a more traditional chassis), and I don't now if it would be the solution.
I'm the rider, and the engineers must decide what to do for the future.
We don't necessarily need a new chassis to solve our problems, though."

everyone but Aoyama has said no to Motegi.

wonder if he can show up there alone and collect points for 1st 2nd and 3rd.

that would place him 3rd in the championship.

J Lo is good too and right there with the rest.

+46 to everything that you said. Rossi was beaten in Catalunya '07. It was first GP race that I had watch and immediately I became fan of Rossi ( not Stoner ), because I could see how he was struggling to match the pace of Stoner and latter was beating him in the straights, no matter what was the difference between them.

I cant say whether I'm totally right over here or not, but as I had also mentioned earlier that Rossi once said that he races for fans and loves to do close racing, had he be of other type ( winning from start ), he would have had few more victories under his belt.
