well the marshals did help Stoner, but seeing the vedio we could see all marshals helping rossi to get his bike up and then pushing him.. Later they realise stoner shouting for help and they help him.. So that pissed Stoner a lot. 5 marshals helping ROssi and none on Stoner. Stoner reachnig the racing line comes after this... Ofcourse If I was Rossi fan, I will sure help my hero first, no matter what the state is.Last edited by prabhubravo; 04-04-2011, 04:10 PM.

Shame that it was Rossi, who probably doesn't understand english properly. I would like to imagine if it was any of the American (say Edwards?) to whom Casey said those words
Although to think of it if it wasn't Rossi, Casey wouldn't have been so angry or arrogant. Funny the incident had to happen with Casey/Rossi whose history of "aggressive" racing goes back couple of years in history (remember Casey's reaction after Laguna '08) too.
Casey clapping for Rossi in the motogp.com pic is too funny
Shame that this incident barred us from what would have been more interesting race than what we witnessed.
1. Rossi's start from 12 and probably ending on a podium would have been fantastic
2. Stoner Rossi Lorenzo probably fighting for the win because these three had the better race pace than any other rider..

^^ If it was edwards...he wouldn't have taken no shit from nobody...
, I bet casey thought long and hard to come up with this line...
I was disappointed that this robbed us of a great race..and robbed doctor perhaps of his first podium/win with Ducati...
Just imagine if this incident had happened between Rossi and Lorenzo..

^^^It would be epic though I pray this type of incident doesn't happen again...
Most of you would have already read it but still a must read if you want a real interpretation of the incident:
An excerpt:
Honda's new gearbox has its own Achilles' heel i.e. restarting the bike after a crash. The causes of the crash were relatively simple, but the fallout is already complex and likely only to grow over the next weeks until Estoril. It all started with the treatment of the two riders as they were picking themselves up out of the gravel. Both men were helped up, the corner workers first tending to Rossi, to ensure that he was not trapped under his bike. Rossi had whipped in the clutch to keep the engine of the Ducati running, but his leg had got caught under the bike. Once the marshals had extricated him from the tangle, Rossi could get back on his bike and get back underway.
Casey Stoner faced a much more difficult task. The Australian had cut the engine on his RC212V, to avoid any damage from the bike running on its side. But the Honda's fancy gearbox requires two pins to be inserted in the clutch to allow the engine to be started. It is possible to bumpstart the engine without these pins, but it is extremely difficult.
What happened next was revealed in a series of photos captured by Andrew Wheeler, who was standing on the inside of Turn 1 when the crash unfolded in front of him. While Rossi was departing, Casey Stoner was picking his bike up out of the gravel, and 6 marshals gathered round the Australian. Five of them started to push him on his way, and over the next few seconds, the marshals melted away one-by-one. By the time the bike was going fast enough to to try and start, there was only one man left pushing the bike, uphill towards the crest leading to Turn 2.
Without sufficient manpower to give him the speed he needed, and the one corner worker forced to work uphill, struggling against gravity, starting Stoner's bike proved to be impossible, a failure which Stoner took very much to heart. Afterwards, he blamed the marshals for a lack of impartiality, rushing to help Rossi, a rider who needed little assistance, while not helping him, who clearly needed help bump-starting the bike.
Stoner's complaint had been echoed earlier by Marco Simoncelli, who had also claimed that corner workers had left him to fend for himself instead of trying to bump-start the bike. But there is a further factor to consider, that by the time Stoner approached the crest of the hill, he was starting to impinge on the racing line. This may have been the reason the marshals retreated, rather than any perceived favoritism for Valentino Rossi.
Lesson learnt: Don't crash Honda riders
Wow! Am I seeing this wrongly or Rossi is actually waving Casey goodbye

Interesting set of pics. Rossi never let go of the clutch while sliding and stuck under the bike. It wasn't a high speed skid hence don't know if it was just a desperate action to somehow hold on to the bike or an intentional one to keep the engine running.Last edited by TheRedPill; 04-04-2011, 09:18 PM.

Man that was an interesting read. Like Val said, "Looking now, you know, when have a very difficult test, a difficult preseason, a difficult first race, when you have the chance to win, you are very excited. I think this is a human characteristic, and I think for that reason I made the mistake. You are in the grasp of a goal and a little bit of push might just do that but at the same time might backfire.

It was a real pleasure not to see a pileup in moto2 on the first corner although wet race.
Superb ride by the crazy man iannone. I thought Rainbow man's ride was better after having to ride through penalty after jump start and finishing superbly...
125cc looks like Terol has this one bagged. Lets see if anyone can challenge him.
Edit: Very interesting tweet from David Emmett:
Ducati crew and @Alex__Briggs sitting in Business class, Yamaha and Honda staff back in economy. Even Italian TV team in economyLast edited by TheRedPill; 04-04-2011, 10:30 PM.

once again motomatters has the best analysis....
Just saw the crash pics sequence.....it was a conscious effort by rossi to not let go of the clutch....not at any point....brilliant...thats why he was able to ride away so quickly...

I guess Rossi of not letting the clutch go...was managable comparable to stoners fall........coz rossi when he had his slide knew the consequences..where as stoner was taken back by surprise..and didnt expect rossi to slip on him ! ! !
And on all those reactions from stoner...Its quite ovious...coz the team and he himself have worked quite hard to achieve a front row..and stoner bng desperate to get a win at a circuit where he never has climbed the top step of the rostrum ! ! !....I blv his reaction were mild...coz in the past wid similar scenarios where one gets out of the race coz of somebody else fault, ppl have thrased and been rude ! ! !...
and at that level, the intensity and commitment is so high..its hard to supress ur frustation ! ! !...if things go wrong..and no matter how much we gossip abt stoner/rossi behaviour....its hard to realize the intensity and scenarios these riders encounter.....Nothing feels better than to gear up and burn some rubber ! ! !

I would like to know what Rossi said to Elias when the latter crashed into him in Jerez 2006 race.
