  • 8 riders crashed today. Valentino was just one of them.

'Twas unfortunate that Stoner got caught in the middle of it.

But is was a clean pass.

Rossi was in contention for a podium spot (2nd).

or even a possible win. (which is what i believe Rossi was aiming for)

    Stoner's entitled to be pissed.

Rossi did end up with 11 points.

    Can't wait for Estoril.

Stoner: did you have some problem with your shoulder?

Rossi: I'm so sorry... i make a mistake.

Stoner: yeah... Obviously your ambition outweighed your talent...

        Rossi: Ehh??

Stoner: you see your ambition weighed more...

        Rossi: I'm sorry!
Now,I cannot judge whether this should be taken as arrogance or bad mood! Stoner had crashed very early in the race,so,by the end of it he should have had calmed down a bit..Seems,he was too adamant to scold Rossi..

Anyway,I like the choice of words(though very inappropriate for a rider like,Rossi!) -'Your ambition has outweighed your talent'..That's is like a sweet sugar-coated HARD SLAP..

On the Lorenzo issue, like someone had mentioned above.I think yes,he's benefiting a lot by other guys' crashes and injuries.I am an anti-Lorenzo but absolutely this guy has got talent.Haven't seen or heard him crash anywhere for quite some races now.
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

        • well, Rossi might be 9 time champion but still he was too eager to move front and Even Stoner was contending for the Podium finish so "I was aiming for podium" cannot be an excuse.

This reminds me of my x-military uncle's saying "I might be like a god who saved so many lives, but after that if I kill/injure anyone I will still be arrested, so I'm the same as you"

Jerez is Stoner worst track. Today he had good chance to set it right but Rossi spoiled it. Rossi was trying to make an impression with his Ducati and he had a good pace today. So for both this race was important.
It will be interesting to see the next Rossi Vs Stoner battle on track

          • Rossi going down was not the bike's fault. Rossi should have been more patient. There were 17 laps left and he was smoking everyone's times. He would have walked away with it had he given it one or two more corners to set Stoner up better.

            Rain, the great equalizer.

Switched off the telly after Spies crashed out. Devastated.

            EDIT:-
Would be interesting see had Max Biaggi been crashed out instead of Stoner in that way. It would have justified Rossi going geared in (helmet/gloves) the paddock.

            • Oh, maybe Rossi knew that marshal's will be able to get his bike running again and he can score points.. leaving Stoner a DNF..!!

"I'm a racer, designed to win. If I don't give my all to win... I'll not race". --- Ayrton Senna

                This comment by senna...describes a true racer ! ! !

Rossi was pushing...no offence...conditions were tricky..agreed...rossi backed up his experience and made the move...but his inexperience wid ducati...cost him the slip...and stoner the race....

absolutely no fault wid nebody....Rossi apologised...gentlemen's code...and stoner's reaction...harsh...but we need to understand his emotions....He has never won in Jerez....this was his chance..and it was screwd coz of somebody else fault..and gng by rossi's way of racing over the years.....he too might have tght it was a deliberate move by rossi as usual..to push him wide..and get the exit out of corner ! ! !....

So I blv it was hard luck for both the riders........and jorge's race was made easy as he didint have to push much....felt bad for spies...deserved a podium..concerns over Dani's arm/shoulder....

lets wait for the next race....and hope it doesnt rain again there ! ! !
Nothing feels better than to gear up and burn some rubber ! ! !

                        • ^^I don't know what you think about this, but to me this guy is the other cry baby im motogp after Lorenzo.
On the other hand I think Lorenzo has matured now. Maybe a better mindset than he had last year.

And he's still not done with crying! I just read about what Stoner has to say on this topic. He feels that,Rossi should have come alone to apologize and not with a cameraman and crew along!

Lets see how many days this duel continues.I wish to see it on the track though rather than just blabbering about this and that..

                            • I wish Rossi should not have apologized. Stoner did not deserved it.

He lost the respect that I had for him.
I wish Pedrosa wins this WC if not Rossi.

That bike will still bring Stoner down even if he is not riding it."

"Stoner the moaner even makes Lorenzo look like a good sportsman and that is saying quite a bit. What a Jerk."

This maybe a idiotic move from Rossi, and I'm feeling so terrible abt it. He could have won that.

But the question is, who doesnt makes it. Lorenzo in PI'09, Stoner in LS'08 and Dani in 2006. It was a just a bad day for Rossi and Stoner both.

And I'm not sure if Stoner didnt got a help. See the pic :
And as I read on motomatters, he did got a help and when marshalls were pushing his bike up the hill , they can only do till they dont cross the line and maybe thats the reason as in the end only one marshall was pushing, because stoner approached the racing line.

exactly!! he's the one who had all the leathers on, what if another speeding RC212V hit one of those marshals, but he never thought about that..just that he couldn't get it going, couldn't blame it on rossi that much, so lets get the marshal this time.
More over Rossi hung on to the clutch to avoid the engine to cutoff, now if CS was so talented, where did it go that time. In that case he might have even finished better than rossi cos his bike was on top, less into the gravel and he could have gotton the better start out of the two.
