Not taking anything from Marc. Who are we to talk about him. But I feel he is lucky for not being injured after crashing in almost every circuit during the Free Practice. Hope he doesn't injure himself badly in the process.

In hindsight, Stoner might want to come back. It will be great watching Marc, Stoner, Dani, Lorenzo, Rossi, Bradl, Espargo fight it out.

Yes, yesterday they showed Shangai 2008 and Laguna Seca 2008 races in that program ... Now with back to back wins by marc it is clear that Dani and Lorenzo need to be fit for making the upcoming races interesting otherwise no one is gonna challenge Marc :/ and it will be boring

I wouldn't say he has been lucky, given that majority of crashes in motoGP these days don't cause serious injuries. (scractches, friction burns and minor injuries mostly)

Lorenzo and Pedrosa, on the other hand have been VERY unlucky. So few crashes but the few crashes they had broke their collar bones.

One of the comments on this link caught my eye... and I can't say that I disagree...

Woah...that was an amazing pass, late on the brakes on the inside>off track on the cork screw> 1st to cross the finish line.
I couldn't even imagine a car doing that in the cork screw.

This pass was better than what Marc pulled off, but not better than what Rossi did

For those wandering if going off tract is legal or not - the Rule book says you can defend your position by going off track, but you're not allowed to over take by going off track.
In 2008 and 2013 the riders going off track had overtaken the rider in front before they went off track.
Same is the case in this video. you over take the guy in front, go off track to save your position, finish in front, it's all good.

Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Even with all that protection people do die on the tracks, dont they? Almost every season we do hear of someone dying on the track.

It all depends on how you fall and where you fall (circumstances). Sometimes people are hurt badly even when they have a fall at 10 Km/hr, and lot of times you see people coming out with minor bruises after crashing at high speeds.

At the end of the day, yes Lorenzo and Dani are more unfortunate, while Marc is fortunate enough to escape without any serious damage.

But, Murphy's Law does catch up eventually.

You come to the office, sick and in no mood to work. And then you read this news and the face is like.

I know he wont be returning fortnight, but there is a ray of hope to see # 27 Aussie rider back on the paddock.

The other side of the story is that HRC test rider Akiyoshi had broken his thigh bone sometime back and Stoner is filling in to keep the development going. Money is no worry!

BMW will be quitting WSBK at the end of this season. Reputed German Website Speedweek says that BMW has plans to enter MotoGP. Will use Danilo Petrucci as a test horse in 2013 and 14 with updated engines with increased power from 232 hp to 245 hp. Next year could see pnuematic valves increasing the power to 260 hp and thus hoping to get top 10 positions. That will as powerful as the Yamahas. But they will be using the spec ECU with spec software. Petrucci's good qualifying in Sachsenring is being attributed to this increased support from BMW factory.

Nice. I think a full BMW factory team should be capable enough to trouble Yamaha and Honda factories.

I guess you didn't read the article! Petrucci and Pesek ride the CRTs of Camo-Ioda racing. Melandri may or may not come back to MotoGP, depending on the level of involvement of BMW.

Aprilia is planning to make their ART faster, if BMW also enters then Ducati will be finishing 18th instead of 8th, what with the Yamaha-FTRs and the production Hondas. Audi will do well to exit the series!
